What would be some good beginner handguns when I become of age? Money isn't so much an issue. I'd rather dish out a hefty amount of money for a quality piece. I'm looking for something of good caliber, managable recoil, flexibilty of accessories (sights, clips, etc.), and possibly a nice finish. Thanks.

Beginner handguns?

Something in .22lr.

If you like 1911 frame pistols, then pick up either a Kimber .22lr 1911, or pick up a decent grip frame and any number of different .22lr conversion kits. There are also some better quality full 1911 .22lr pistols out there, but I can't remember the names of them.

They also do the same thing for Glock.

Or you could pick up a Walther P22, or a Browning Buckmark, or a S&W, or a Ruger, or...

the Ruger is upgradeable like none other, but the quality (and slight upgradeability) of the Browning make it my personal choice.

Just a 9 for punching holes in targets and knocking down plates.

There are a couple knock off DEs but mine was a magnum reasearch one. Quality is great, feel is great, power = god, and it was pretty accuarate.

I'll post some pics of my Glock tomorrow seeing as I just bought it today. Any opinions, first hand experiences with a Glock 17?

I have been seriously contemplating purchasing an FN 5.7 [FiveseveN] but not only will the pistol set me back 800 the ammo is also quite expensive.

Anybody around here own one of them shits ?

one of my all-time favorites, the Taurus PT-92....

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j298/skydivr7673/H_92B-17.jpg

This gun simply does not jam. Brand new, only $380, and never a problem with it. 17+1 capacity too...just in case...

Next, a .40.....

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j298/skydivr7673/H_PT24-7LS-40SS.jpg

This one carries 15+1 and is an award winning handgun. For the price, you cannot go wrong with one of these.

My next one is going to be a concealer, maybe the new Sig 229 compact...

HAHAHAHAHA.

Anyways, my brother has a Taurus and a Ruger. Both guns are very nice.

The Ruger Mark III Hunter is his target shooter because .22 ammo is dirt cheap.

His is all black, though.

The Taurus is his "home security system", if you will. It's a 140SSP.

Sig and Glock are the top dogs

Taurus....meh

Sig has a trigger pull that needs getting used to after shooting many other types of handguns. Glocks are so overdone it isnt funny. Glock nowadays is almost synonymous with gangsters....there is a reason for that, oh almighty ignorant one.

What about Beretta? No one mentioned those....standard issue for the troops. Any thoughts?
