OK, I'm in Rhode Island. I bought something on the other forum from a member in VA. I have a buddy who is also in VA. The guy sent me a tracking number on Monday, that was supposedly going to be picked up on Tuesday. As of 5 minutes ago, UPS still hasn't picked it up. At what point do I have my friend go and beat the shit out of this asshole?

Sometimes UPS does not scan when they should and can be days behind. Why I use fedex to ship.

i worked in ups back in the day. theres a giant conveyer belt in the hub. boxes come down this belt and are funneled into chutes, which go onto rollers that are extended into trailers.

packages come FAST. a normal loader at UPS checks, scans and loads about 3000 packages in 3 hours. ditto for fed ex. if you do the math, thats about 1 package every 3 seconds. that's why you get errors. that's also why shipping is so cheap. its pretty hard work for $9/hour.

fed ex just has nicer looking boxes and white trucks, so people unconsciously think they're more accurate.

I bought a sunroof from a guy on the other forum. He sent me a pick just before he sent it with UPS and this is what it looked like when I got it.

I used to work for UPS as well as the guy who checks box dimensions to ensure proper billing after they get off the trucks. Man, that job sucked... lol

Thats why I still have my glass moonroof off my GSL, which is probably a bag of nails in China as we speak. I can't for the life of me figure out how the hell I would ship that thing without it getting broken somewhere along the way, short of encasing it in 20 pounds of wood and foam.

I package my hoods in TWO boxes with padding all around and BAX Global and DHL both manage to crack the hoods

Soemtimes you can pack things to tight and that is the reason for breakage. I ship and recieve packages almost every other day and everything I send out is first wrapped in bubble wrap then laid in the biggest box I can fit full of peanuts.

Most peopel want to skimp on the packaging and that is the result in about 75% of all parcle breakage.

UPS cracked the bottle of my German Imported Klasse sealant (or wax to you guys)... and the little peanut w/e things soaked up everything... 30 dollars all gone.

Yeah - if I had to pick corporate colours for a company people occasionally accuse of shitty service, brown wouldn't be high on the list.

the "peanuts" suck...use the bubble wrap, and triple wrap everything

UPS is not responsible for idiots....they rock...in fact I think their customer satisfaction was top 10 last year
