First off I would not reccommend porting to anyone who has a unsteady hand or has a lack of common sense as both are needed in large quantities to have a good outcome when porting.
I will be adding on to this thread when i have time.
FIRST
I would like to talk about the SOB exhaust diffusers on the S4-S5 N/A cars.
I have only delved into porting on non turbo cars which may sound foolish so most porting expert as non turbo plates are the most finiscky and daring plates to port. But anyhow onto exhaust diffusers, they are a pain in the ass period!!
Mise well start with exhaust no point in trying to force more air in if you cant get it out!
Removing exhaust diffusers from the actual rotor housings Step#1
Go to local hardware store and look for some good high quality self tapping wood and or steel screws, and a god pair of vicegrips. Take the screw and screw it tight into the roll pin holding in the accursed sleeve. If you are lucky the roll pin will spin easily with minimal force and pull out, if not it may need putting the vicegrips on sideways on screw and hiting vicegrips with hammer as to jar them out. Other have been succecful welding to the roll pins and pulling them out. This far more risky as you may cause damage to the housing itself and in the end the roll pins are damaged in my trick they are still 100% reusable if one tight. if roll pin rufuses to budge wd40 and heat is your best friend.
Once you have pulled out the roll pins the exhaust diffuser should come out freely. No for step #2 step #2 also has many different angles of attack as to remove the actual diffuser in the sleeve. Some say dremel some say cutting torch some say cold chisel some say air grinder. What i found to work best is to use a dremmel/air grinder with a dut of wheel and cut a notch ineach side of the center part of diffuser as to seperate it into three pieces *Pictures will be added* then use some longnose vicefrips grab onto edges of diffuser and tist back and forth as to metal fatique and break them off. Much quicker and safer then cutting burning so straight up beating them out. Now you can use a dreml or airgrinder to finish off the rough bits HINT *THey are made from VERY VERY hard cast material and eat through almost any cutting bit in no time*
Well thats enough for tonight I will continue on next time i feel like typeing some more lol :hide:
