He wanted an avatar that said "I love cock". I told him he could have one, as long as it was done my way. That was the result. King 08-03-2005, 09:16 PM Ah. My bad. I thought you were starting to be an asshole again :D i never stopped. clean85owner 08-03-2005, 09:24 PM I have a piston sitting on my dresser from our old YZ-125 shifter with a hole melted in the top of it. I'll take some pics. BTW, it was the result of leaning it out a little too much. 2ndGen.Rocket 08-03-2005, 09:28 PM Detonation! How badly scored was the cylinder? Some serious melted shavings on the top of that thing. I've seen one almost as bad pulled out of a Farmtrac tractor one time. Savington 08-03-2005, 10:36 PM 2nd gen, no detonation. 11:1 compression + 98 octane minimum = no detonation. The motor spit a circlip up the cylinder, into the combustion chamber, and down the other side. I had to replace all the lower end bearings, wrist pin, piston, triple hone the cylinder, had to fill and recut the head as well. It stuck pretty hard. 15.7k rpm, and it just stopped pulling, and then stuck. Ryosuke91t 08-03-2005, 10:40 PM pistons all bobin up & down like-http://content.ytmnd.com//86000/86717/image.gif Savington 08-03-2005, 10:42 PM I have a piston sitting on my dresser from our old YZ-125 shifter with a hole melted in the top of it. Only like 4 or 5, right? ;) Savington 08-03-2005, 10:43 PM What is love! *Boing, boing* Baby don't hurt me.. *boing* clean85owner 08-03-2005, 11:32 PM Here's that piston I was telling y'all about: http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/7735/834e07848hz.th.jpg (http://img240.imageshack.us/my.php?image=834e07848hz.jpg) viperkillerwannabe 08-04-2005, 12:46 AM Is that from your kart? BTW, former rotary/current boinger owner. aznpoopy 08-04-2005, 12:50 AM edit: nevermind OMFG LEVEL UP!!!!11one clean85owner 08-04-2005, 01:03 AM Yes, that is from my old YZ-125 shifter. Painful (and expensive) mistake.... Savington 08-04-2005, 01:13 AM clean85, you think holing a piston is expensive? All new lower end bearings seals and gaskets, wrist pin, head reshaping, cylinder repair, brand new piston, labor, and dyno time came to over $600 for this oopsie. :( Japanese shifter motors are cheap compared to anything Italian. This is from a Parilla Leopard, and the piston had 13 hours on it. I think I've still got pics of the piston I nearly holed a few months back. That motor was beat to high hell. It was a 4 hour Enduro over a 3 day weekend. -Kart did not run at all Friday; putting the motor back on, beefing parts up, going through the entire thing to make sure it's all perfect. (Obv. we missed some shit.) -On Saturday, I went through two clutches, one of which destroyed the crankshaft. Still usable, but pretty badly scored. (Centrifugal clutch is held to the crankshaft with taper) -Sunday, 15 minutes before the race starts, I do a third clutch because the entire starter apparatus has destroyed itself, taking the clutch with it -30 minutes in, the header breaks off at the flange, exposing the exhaust ports. Motor leans out badly, resulting in a cracked piston. -An hour in, the fucking plug strap breaks off, probably from the lean condition, and bounces around in there, dinging everything up. Motor is noticeably down on power now. The piston was cracked all the way through, the head was badly dented, and the crank-half had to be replaced due to the clutch damage. koopz 08-04-2005, 04:07 AM I had a motorbike that did that, got it off the local reserve, little PW50 minibike well the exact same thing happened someone didnt fasten clip properly in groove and it came out... in a big rush.... i picked thebike up after it happened and rebuilt it as a joke from another bike i got for free in total cost me 75$ for a rideable minibike. In the end took it to a swap n shop thing sold it for 400$ before it even left the back of the trailer!! RedR1 08-04-2005, 07:57 AM wait. . .wa wa wait. . . . WTF IS A PISTON?!!?!?! wonner 08-04-2005, 07:58 AM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v335/zerocylinder/Wonner.jpg RedR1 08-04-2005, 08:01 AM   1 bad 7 08-04-2005, 08:01 AM ^ Alex-7 08-04-2005, 06:08 PM Looks like Batman snuck into the cylinder and scared the piston much like he scared your youthfull inocence that faitfull night in the bedroom. I know, that was a big reach :) rx-7_Z06 08-06-2005, 04:16 PM this thread delivers! I hope to never see any of my pistons looking like that. I love my pistons!!!! |
