Ok, I have an '89 3rd Gen. Prelude I'm about to start work on.  I need some suggestions on what I should do to it.  I've heard people suggest an H22, but I've also heard an H22 is overrated.  So, perhaps someone out there can help?

whats up man my names steven, 88-91 preludes are the best looking in my opinion, maybe cause ive owned 3 of them, the only downside is their engine, and they are a little on the hefty side. u didnt say what level u have is it an si with the old b20a5-2.0 dohc? if so u have the option of adding a vtec head but u will need a reprogrammed ecu to get things workin efficiently, this makes a good increase in power, kinda like an ls/vtec if u will.  as u probably already found out theres not a lot of aftermarket support for your car or your engine.  the h22 is the best way to get more power out of your car, but tis also the most costly. its been done a few times and is supposedly a lot of headaches and work. theres a guy on hte web who makes turbo kits for your car but they cost about the same as the h22 and dont make as much power, but are a lot easier to install. if your interested in that i can find u his web address. but honestly i know ull hate me for it, but the only real option u have is buy a car with more aftermarket support if u want to get your moneys woth and save a few dollars and headaches.i wish there was a better option but i have yet too find it. i do know a few tricks for the lude of your interested, been helpin out a frioed of min with an 88 si. later

Yea, I've noticed it's rather hard to find certain things for it.  I just don't have the money to go out and buy a newer car AND buy parts for it.  From what I've learned, ANY car can be made fast... ANY... Some just take lots more work than others.  I was considering the h22, and I think I could swing the funds.  Should I?

I talked to a guy on hondaprelude.com who has a 91Si with a h22 dropped in it and he ran a 14.6 at his local track..i think the 1/8 mile time was like 9.3...not sure, but that isnt bad...i would save some $ and get the H22...but thats me...do what ur wallet allows..

the h22 is the best way to go, and as i said before the most expensive. the hard part is getting the parts together and shoe horning that bad boy in there, u prolly arent gonna be able to retain your a/c, and other accessories, but hey u wanna go fast so whats a little lack of creature comforts? the good news is after u get her in there u can buy all the go fast goodies the other h22ers use-i.e Jackson Racing &nbsp;<img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> . but serirously keep me posted on your progress.
