Anybody interested in this music? I like mainly the original American and European progressive musicians like Frank Zappa and the Canterbury scene: Caravan, Soft Machine, Hatfield and the North, Gentle Giant, Henry Cow, Eberhard Weber, etc. I'm learning about crossover progressive and electronica, too. (similar to Radiohead and Fugazi I suppose)

I usually listen to acoustic music. Nothing can really beat that beautiful hum of a G-chord on a well tuned acoustic guitar. Another thing is that almost every acoustic guitar song has real meaning to it. When people write songs like that, they really pour there heart and mind ito it. Unlike the majority of the songs in the completely over rated rap and hip-hop genres.

Ugh, I completely agree. Their new album isn't much better aside from a few good songs. But now they believe that they've found their set style, which is bullshit when there old style was better. Their music actually had meaning to it back then, not this new shit that's basically just a bunch of complaining.
Though I can't really say much, coming from a punk band. But at least the music I make is complaining AND meaningful =)

what's great about bands like greenday, the offspring, and blink 182 is that none of them ever claimed to be punk...they just were. i loved all 3 of them

I was just saying... I can't stand punk or the counter culture that comes with it.

yeah, it's like the counter culture defines the music now, instead of the music creating a style...

I can respect that, and I can see where you both are coming from
Just to clarify, my band isn't punk because we decided that's what we wanted to be, my band is punk because that's the genre that our songs fit into.
