Aight well here is the situration.
there is a buddy of mine that owns an X box and he got this thing put in it (like a hardrive of some sort or something like that) and now he has in it over 600 games from SNES, SEGA, and others. He can also rent a game from like blockbuster and just burn it on to the hard drive and own it without having to pay for jack squat. Well my question is is there such thing for PS2 ??? or anything close to it.

that takes some modifying on the the xbox since it's basically a straight-up computer. the PS2 isn't so as far as i know there's nothing like it. Although i did hear you can burn PS2 games on ur computer. You just have to get some special program and buy black CDRs to burn em on... at least i think, dunno never done it...

if it's anything like the ps1 then you can't just copy and burn....the ps1 had a anti-copy measure where a certain spot on the disc was "damaged" where a cd burner couldn't replicate. here's where the mod chip comes into play...it basically bypasses that to where you can play burnt and other region games/dvd's

In a nutshell, PS2 sucks for modding. It has no potential.
My xbox is modded with every NES, SNES, Sega game ever created. And not to mention every hot title for the xbox on my HD. And all this with no mod chip. All software modding.
Xbox capability is far better than the PS2, which has led to it's popularity over the years. Once the next generation xbox comes out, i'll be the first to have one.

I bought a used xbox for $50, fixed it for $10 and modded it.
If you want a modded xbox, don't buy one brand new, they are a pain in the ass to mod
The older the xbox, the better.
I'll mod it for u if you buy it
