I've had a Gamecube for about a year + now, and now it's time for a change. I don't know which system to choose now so it's either Xbox or PS2. All in all, which one would you choose?

I like my ps2 a lot. Everyone I know likes their ps2 but I've seen a lot of really cool games I wish I could play for the xbox :(

get an XBOX..and make sure you get Halo....we play halo at a guys house..we hook up 4 xboxs on a pingpongtable and have each tv facing a different direction..like 1 tv facing north, facing south, etc...so we cant see each other tvs...2 ppl on each tv/zxbox...each person has to have halo game in xbox..we go to one level and everybody kills everybody..you can see each otehr on screen....it is awesome..we play for hours...

no no no no no dont get NFS for xbox. I have both xbox and ps2, get NFS for pc if youre getting a xbox, NFS is online on pc and ps2, but not xbox. I have it for pc.

All the good games that are on PS2 are on Xbox.

All the sports games...and now GTA has gotten to the Xbox platform.

Just from doing some reviewing...

PS2 - Processor Speed = 300MHz
Xbox - Processor Speed = 733 Intel PIII

PS2 - Ram = 36MB
Xbox - Ram = 64MB

Memory Card Needed to save games for PS2
Memory Card only needed if playing on another Xbox for the Xbox.

PS2 doesn't look good in this comparison. Their only edge is that you can play the old games...but who plays the old games anyway?

Xbox controller takes both hands to play pretty much, (DEFINITELY buy an S-type controller.)
The PS2 memory card is true, the xbox has like a 6 gb harddrive, but on the other hand, you cant play dvds without the kit, which costs 30.

Not hatin' Not hatin' my fellow enthusiast...just merely stating the facts that I found from looking both systems up and comparing the two.

Although the PS2 has more games, the Xbox is better on paper, no doubt.

I know ppl who have both systems, and i've heard good facts about them both. A lot of ppl say that the PS2 controller is better, but the fact is, those same ppl have played a PS1. Not really stating the the PS2 controller is better, it's just what their used to. If the PS2 would have changed the controller's format a lil bit, then the controller comparison to the Xbox controller would be more valid.

Back to the basics though, i'll be buying the Xbox on friday, and i'll let you guys know how I feel about it saturday mornin. :)

Xbox def has the graphical advantage, and ive grown to love the S-type. Theres even an adapter than lets you use your ps2 controller for the xbox. PS2s are like 80 bucks cheaper now i think.

Well, I purchased the Xbox on Friday morning, and I love it. I've been reading all sorts of things about how people mod the Xbox in order to run Linux, but why the hell someone would want to do that, I don't know. If I wanna run Linux, i'd spare a partition and do it that way on a computer...Ne way

It's a great system, and IMO, better than a PS2 in some aspects, but really, they aren't that much different so it's hard to say if one is better than the other, but I like my Xbox

Project Gotham is only on Xbox, and by far is a better game than Gran Turismo :)

You can hook up 4 Xbox consoles together also and play tons of games. 2 TV's, 4 Xbox's = Good Gameplay.

All in all, the PS2 isn't for me. Yes it may have a bigger library of games, but a lot of the games for PS2 do suck, including a lot of the games on PS1.

As for the PS2, I know many ppl who have them. BUT, instead of being apart of the crowd, i'll stand alone and keep my Xbox. And not to mention, I'd rather give my money to Bill Gates and let it stay in America than give all my money to the Japs...who already screws us over in the car market. But enough about the Economics of the situation...

A lot of ppl say there's a winner between the two and to be honest, there is no winner, there is only preference. I prefer the Xbox over the PS2, some ppl prefer the PS2 over the Xbox. But when I carried my Xbox out of the store, I was happier than I would have been buying a PS2.

Gran Turismo is the best realistic racing game on the market... Nothing even comes close to it...

That's what I think about Sony :) It's time for the Americans to shine a lil bit now, they've had their reign.
