$350 will be for the system and one controller. No options.

The tri core chips are indeed made by IBM. They did use G5's for the development and testing for the X360. There are pics everywhere of M$ hauling in pallets and pallets of G5's.

It WILL be out this November (11/11 is the new date rumbling around - but that's a Friday which is almost never a release day, and the exact four year anniversary of the original XBox is 11/15. That's also the exact three year anny. of XBox Live).

The Playstation 3 will launch in JAPAN Spring 2006 - most likely March. The original Playstation and the PS2 both launched in Japan in March and rolled out to the US in October... expect the same for the PS3. I highly doubt it will cost $500, but I wouldn't be surprised to see $350-$400. Keep in mind the "experts" said PS2 would cost $500-$700 at launch, and as we all know it came out at $299.

MS has stated they want to keep 360 "around $300" which most likely means it will hit at $299, plus a big reason for them launching this year is to get a jump start on Sony. If they price the system any higher, they would counter any early jump they get as many consumers would be more likely to wait due to the higher cost.

That being said, next gen games for 360 and PS3 are pretty much guaranteed to cost $60. Which is fine by me, as when I was a kid I was paying $60-$80 for SNES and N64 cartridges (not to mention the cost of developing games on these new systems will be greater than ever).

Bah, the Dualshock sucks as compared to the S-controller. Yeah, the black and white buttons could be better placed, but the overall feel is so much better. My hand always cramps up using the Dualshock.

I can't believe the analog stick is still in the "secondary" position on the PS3 prototype :rolleyes:
