haha... they aren't mine, it's my friends... they have a corgel, a beagle, and the mixture.

the puppies above are the corgel and the beagle... the corgel/beagle mix and the corgel have puppies on the way any day now, he knocked both of 'em up. They're all really well behaved and nice, no barking all day.

Funny how you have the odd one out token black pup, though. When our two had a litter, we had one that ended up golden brown amongst all the other black ones. That's genetics for ya, though.

I slept in the whelping box with Chaos, my yellow lab, for four nights to make sure the puppies were ok. That was so miserable.

I'll one up you. I was the only one home at the time when Nevaeh went into labor. I had never seen anything birthed before, so I have to say this very event somewhat scarred me for the rest of my life.

The internet was down at the house and it was on the weekend too, so I didn't have ANY reference material on what to do about the whole thing or any vets available that I knew of to talk to. Totally fucking improvised the whole thing, and managed to even save two of the puppies. One hadn't been freed from its sac in full (was a pretty big pup compared to the others), and the other had it's umbilical cord chewed off FAR too close to his belly. He was bleeding all over the towel covered heater I had down, so I thought fast and got some dental floss out of the bathroom to tie a knot around the cord. Took fucking forever to do it, but at least it worked.

Henceforth their names became "Big Boy" and "Flossy". :D

I grew up with a black lab, and I never really liked/wanted a chocolate. I had my heart set on a yellow lab. Got the yellow lab, then met the chocolate and had to have him. Of all the labs I've ever known, the chocolates are the best/least insane.

See, we were smart. We networked around and found a woman who breeds Great Danes. She stayed at our house that night and knew exactly what to do, so we were 8 for 8 with the pups.
