The girl of my dreams (yeah I know I'm a pussy) tells me she "just wants to be friends" and that "dont get your hopes up". And tonight I find out my dad has cancer....AGAIN. This makes the 4th time, first was prostate, then colon, bladder, and now kidney. He came home sounding defeted, talking about dieing etc.

As for the cancer, it is shitty. Both of my grandparents on my mothers side died from cancer, three of my five uncles have cancer of one sort or another, and a really good friend of mine lost a leg to leukemia. I know what your going through, and it fucking blows.

Your dad is about a hundred million times more important. Just spend time with him and all that assorted madness. I've got an aunt with stage 4 cancer in her bones, lungs, and liver. It's sad, but as a family, and you already know this, I'm sure, you need to pull together and support each other, before you can support the one that needs the most help.

The girl is just a girl. Yes it sucks, but truth be told - chances are your "dream girl" is a psychotic bitch that would drive you to the point of wanting to kill yourself because she is that difficult to talk to.

As for your father, if he has gotten over cancer three times prior to this he is obviously a strong guy. Just keep him motivated to continue to try. Don't let him give up no matter what. If he has done it so many times before, he can do it again.

The best advice that I can give you is never expect anyone to always be there for you... don't fully trust anyone... don't rely on anyone... but do all of the above for others... be trustworthy, be reliable, be there for those you can be... be more of a man than anyone you know. Support her decision of being friends, don't cross the lines, and wish your friend the best in "hooking up" with her. No one on this earth is ever worth losing your cool or class over... always stand above everyone else.

Don't try to drink away your problems; that's just running and trying to escape. Give your dad a pep talk. If his cancer went away 3 times before, then he beat it 3 times. He's 3-0 against it... and if you don't have hope, what do you have?

Your dad is going to leave you one day. Some of your friends are going to leave you. Your girl of interest is going to leave you. You will always have yourself; make sure you can look in the mirror and love what you see staring back.

If it makes you feel any better my middle name is rodney, I'm not giving out my actual name over the internet. Call me parinoid. And I wouldn't even consider doing something like that to male I know. That just breaks one of those unspoken man laws that keeps the world goin round. Maybe thats why he wont look me in the eye anymore...

And I read up coconut oil, from my non existant medical backround it seems like while it's very good for you and helps prevent cancers, heart problems and premature ageing it doesn't do much to CURE anything. Non the less I've got a fresh jar sitting in my kitchen right now. Last thing my dad needs is a heart attack from so much stress.

First thing on my agenda is to find a good doctor around here (its about time, I've been doctorless since high school) and get a full psysical, in case my dad needs a kindey or something. cancer is so unnessecary though. poor people today have no idea what kind of carcinogenic or toxic shit they live in daily . The argument that some people are gneetically prone to cancer is bullshit too. What they mean to say is person X's genetics are predisposed to cancer when explosed to certain carcinogens. This is how meddle makes himself feel better, by assuming random peoples' financial status, unprovoked and then proceeding to insult them (again, unprovoked). All that work to singlehandedly create an opportunity to blast someone based on nothing, JUST so that you could give your own psyche that little extra kick. What a loser. You should learn how to feel-good on your own merits. Go study some basic psychology to realise just how pathetic you publicly make yourself out to be.
