RedR1 07-29-2005, 12:36 PM Howdy all. I want yall's honest opinions. Especially if you've sat in either seat.
I am thinking of buying with the Recaro SPA or the Bride Zeta III in carbon/kevlar. Have either of you either sat, drove, or raced in either of them? Or the Recaro SPG (same as SPA, cept it's not carbon/kev). Recaro is OEM for just about every car manufacturer out there for a reason. . . .
From the pictures i've seen online, the Bride looks as if it offers more cushioning, however, the Recaro looks like it holds better because of the smaller waist area.
Inputs? Opinions?
BATMAN 07-29-2005, 12:59 PM Recaro is the original and the best.
German engineered.
I sat in both and gotta give it to Recaro.
The question is if u have the $$$$ for it.
Look at the FD RZ.

RB240 07-29-2005, 01:23 PM Those look like some comfy seats. I'm being bisexual when it comes to these two choices. I've only sat in brides and must say they were some damn fine seats resting gracefuly on my ass-cheaks. I'm still 55% to bride and 45% to Recaro. Hopefully this thread will help make my decision as well.

Yea Bats, I saw that as well. I have been trying to decide between the two. The OEM Recaro's (karbon/kev) for the Spirit R are $4000.00. . . .
Anywhoo, I have not personally sat in Brides, but have in the Recaro's, and they hug me close. I like that. I like that a lot.
I've been hawk eyeing the Bride Zet III-S and the Bride Xas III. Both offer the hug I need, and fit very well. Also, it looks like their padding is a little more thick than the Recaro's.
Gotta give it to Recaro tho, they are the OEM supplier of seats to Porsche, and the super cars. . . You know me Bats, I want basically what will hold me best and offer the most comfort for the 30 minute track sprints.
Also, most importantly
In the FD, the shoulder width of the bucket has to be 550 mm. I can't seem to find the dimensions for the Recaro SPG or SPA anywhere, and i've checked tons of sites. Tee's USA (dist for Bride) has all the widths and lengths I need for measurements. If anyone can post me some dimensions for the Recaro SPG/SPA, i'd really appreciate it!
ISupportRX7Club.com 07-29-2005, 10:23 PM Recaros kick Bride in the balls. You get what you pay for when you're talking seats.
Supper 07-29-2005, 11:24 PM why do so many people hate Sparco?
Onlyonthurs! 07-29-2005, 11:41 PM i know why so many people hate you!!!
turboSE 07-30-2005, 12:47 AM i hate bride and recaro........
I have SPARCOS in my FD!!!!111!!!11one! =P
RB240 07-30-2005, 01:58 AM fawk it.. im goin with Recaro :)
Recaros are nice. Haven't owned any other aftermarket seats to compare them to.
Streamline 07-30-2005, 10:48 AM Recaros all the way. Some of the shells that Sparco uses...is made by Recaro. Bride is just an expensive name. Recaro is the best and will always be the best.
RedR1 07-30-2005, 12:12 PM Thanks for the input folks. Keep em coming if yall have experience with either!
Cosby 07-30-2005, 12:37 PM I like the corbeaus, then recaro, then bride, then sparco. I can ask monday if any of my vendors have the width on that seat for you. PM me a model number.
RB240 07-30-2005, 02:06 PM Can we get comparison guys? Not favortism between the two? (this wasn't meant to be assanine)
The reason I say this is because Recaro almost seems biased in my opinion cause its "recaro". Anybody have a great deal of comparison on the two? Or why you would choose Recaro over Bride?
uscmatt 07-30-2005, 05:22 PM I'd have no opinion on the two, but I have Corbeau's in my FD, and they feel more comfortable than stock.
oodlesofnoodles 07-30-2005, 05:40 PM Well, personally I have custom seats that I put around $5,000 or so into a piece in my ferrari. Custom is the only way to go.
