Cosby 08-19-2005, 05:09 PM Has anyone repaired a heater core with good results? How did you do it? Cosby 08-19-2005, 05:12 PM nevermind... I can probably afford to spend the $20 for a new one ;) CU ZCar 08-19-2005, 09:30 PM For a lot of cars, getting TO the heater core is such an enormous pain in the ass that I'd probably not want to put anything BUT a new core in, just to not risk having to do the job again. Then again, maybe some cars' heaters are built more reasonably than Datsuns were. rxtasy 08-19-2005, 11:40 PM 20 bucks? i'd just get a new one. as for repair, it depends on if it's aluminum or copper. i've repaired some of the copper ones when i worked in a radiator shop. if the copper ones leak where the tubes go in, it's easy to repair, but if the leak is in the core, ur probably better off just getting a new one. Cosby 08-20-2005, 10:26 AM yeah I repaired it in a half hour thenI decided I didnt want to risk it and bought one :) |
