Here are cliffnotes:
Searching for an LS1/T56 combo i came across this on car-parts

2001
Engine
Pontiac Firebird Transam 5.7,6SP,3-01,LOW MILES,W ACCESS 26,000 A
M0035 $4500.95

I called and asked these were my first words "Hey my name is Rob and i saw your ad on Car-parts, Part # M0035 is an Engine/Transmission combo and it comes with all of the accesories, wire harness and the computer right?" i was told yes, then i asked what the lowest price they could do for it was they said $4500. I them i would call back. I called back a while later and told them about an engine/trans pullout i had found locally for $4250 and asked if they could beat that price on part# M0035. They said no because they would have to ship it to me. To which i responded what price can you do if i pick it up? $4100 was what i was told.

I told them i would call and let them know whether i could pick it up late friday afternoon or whether i would have to wait till monday. On friday i realized there was no way i would make it up there before 5 so i called and asked them to hold it for me which they did. I have had finals this week and was going to be to busy to do it so my dad offered to get it for me. He went gave them the money and picked it up. I asked him to check it had the harness and computer. I never thought to tell him to check it had the transmission because 1) they had already told me it was included 2) it costs $4100 i have never heard of just an ls1 engine going for 4100.

Anyway he picked it up and when he got it home i saw there was no trans. I figured it was an honest mistake. They said no it was never included.

I have discussed it with them twice now and they are offering me two options (both of which are nothing close to a compromise)

Either A) Pay a 25% ($1025) restock fee and drive it all the way 215 miles back to VA

B)Buy a t56 transmission from them for $1400]

Before anyone says it i know the ad says Engine in it. However they repeatedly told me over the phone that it was a engine/trans combo

We picked up a wrecked WRX from Va 2 weeks ago... guy said there was space between the valve cover and front end... got there and found out the front end was smashed into the valve cover and broke the timing gears... also one of the lower control arms was broken so we had to pull it onto the car trailer with the tow vehicle... took a few hours to load. Va is for scammers.
