Cosby 02-17-2008, 08:34 PM I'm looking for an RV for the trip coming up. Today we went to look at them for the first time and I realized I don't know anything about them. Is there anything I should look at or look for in an RV? czarofzar 02-17-2008, 10:11 PM RVs are heavy maintenance regarding the outside elements attacking various surfaces. Big surface area means investing in a lot of polish, tire/cloth protection, or get a RV Port. Tofuball 02-17-2008, 10:13 PM Dude, just buy a zeppelin. wotnartd 02-17-2008, 10:16 PM Dude, just buy a zeppelin. Fuckin'-eh! A zeppelin would rock. czarofzar 02-17-2008, 10:19 PM or rent one for $130 a day. That is what we do. 95whitepep 02-17-2008, 11:12 PM yea, when you are out on the road, rest areas are a haven for homo's. http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/images/something-about-mary-hitchhiker.jpg Alex-7 02-18-2008, 02:13 AM Do not buy one! Only rent one. There is nothing on earth harder to sell than an RV. Cosby 02-18-2008, 02:27 AM $7,800 to rent one... no thanks. I could buy one and burn it to the ground for less. Alex-7 02-18-2008, 02:33 AM Wow! Yeah that's insane. You gonna buy an old one for a few grand then? czarofzar 02-18-2008, 08:27 AM $7800? Good Lord, no! LEt me hook you up bro. Cruise America has a deal right now for off season $49 daily rates any size RV for rentals longer then 30 nights. Thats 1500 smackeroos! Thats one TFL sticker you owe me. dano670 02-18-2008, 08:37 AM If you can afford it, get a diesel. The mileage is probably 30 percent better. Also, on some of the models with the part that slides out when you are stopped, looked for functionality with it is not extended, ie check to see if you can open the fridge, use the stove, wash dishes, etc. wotnartd 02-18-2008, 09:24 AM What about a pop up trailer? 2ndGen.Rocket 02-18-2008, 10:09 AM $7800? Dude, you need to look around more. Any RV you buy for less than that is going to be a non-running piece of shit. If it is running, it won't be by the end of your trip. Vert8813B 02-18-2008, 10:11 AM Rent a Pontiac Aztek. Cosby 02-18-2008, 12:03 PM Cruise america: Reservation Downpayment $300 Balance Due on Pickup $14363.60 Cancel Date for Refund May 4, 2008 rtryb2200 02-18-2008, 12:10 PM ^haahaha I picked up a camper for the bed of a pick up for 200 bucks...doesn't leak. has water tank, heater, stove, fridge, and room to sleep 5...just buy a pop up to pull behind the jeep. You can store things on top of it, like your kayaks/bikes, during the travel. His cat would get all crazy when driving so it didn't use the litter box. We had to stop and I had to walk the cat (yes...walk the cat) so it could do it's business. Needless to say we didn't stop once when the thing had to take a monsterous shit. It stunk up the whole thing so bad. We had to take about a 3 hour rest stop in Fullerton Virginia to clean the thing up. It was at this point in my life where I first wanted to kill a cat. wotnartd 02-18-2008, 01:02 PM ^haahaha I picked up a camper for the bed of a pick up for 200 bucks...doesn't leak. has water tank, heater, stove, fridge, and room to sleep 5...just buy a pop up to pull behind the jeep. Soooo who is doing your math? Vert8813B 02-18-2008, 03:33 PM Whoever is doing Chris' math is definitely not Asian or Jewish. That much is certain. czarofzar 02-18-2008, 04:20 PM Whoever is doing Chris' math is definitely not Asian or Jewish. That much is certain. lol +1 I think Chris needs to borrow DAKS bitch for the numbers IMHO Cosby 02-18-2008, 05:23 PM Your quote is only for 30 days and what am I supposed to do, walk to arizona? There is a half off special for one way trips from AZ. That's why yours is lower. Alex-7 02-18-2008, 05:40 PM how many people are going with you? czarofzar 02-18-2008, 06:39 PM Well, I'm afraid you are right. South Carolina has some expensive rentals as far as RVs. Its a beautiful state to visit and camp at. I dont have a clue why Cruise America not in there. Maybe its popular to bring tents since the ground is soft, no? I do miss the SC fireants, tick and chiggar bites. Hammerfer 02-20-2008, 06:05 AM if you do end up buying an RV, get a goodsams membership. trust me, it's worth it. it's like AAA for rv's. Cosby 02-20-2008, 12:19 PM Goodsams? I'll check into that. Thanks Only two of us for sure right now. Might go up to four. Hammerfer 02-22-2008, 01:31 AM it's worth it for sure... i have a 30 foot class C and have had a couple tires go and needed a tow twice. on all occasions they came within an hour or 2 and took care of everything i.e. towing, tire changing, no charge to me. i wouldn't even want to guess how much it would cost to tow 20 miles or so and i certainly would enjoy trying to change a rear inner tire(dualies). it works for any vehicle your in as well not just the RV. wotnartd 02-22-2008, 09:52 AM I think AAA now has something like that, it's called the RV gold service. I have it and don't even have an RV. Cosby 02-22-2008, 01:11 PM AAA kicked me out. Scum bags. dano670 02-23-2008, 04:34 AM AAA kicked me out. Scum bags. too many tows? |
