The 7 is going to be sold soon.... and in return of course i'm going to get another car. This is what i've narrowed it down to.. approx. $17,000 to spend

92-95 hatchback w/ b18c5 swap
-intake, headers, exhaust (basics)
-coilovers, LSD, wheels, racing seats, rollcage, gauges, big brakes... possibly nitrous

or

95+ Nissan SE-R w/ SR20VE swap (197hp, variable valves)
-intake, headers, exhaust
-blah blah, copy whats up above

Keep in mind i can't go turbo (actually i prefer not to). Whatever i get, of cousre i want it to be respectable... however its going to be hard to get close to the status/popularity the RX-7 was. My solution is to get nothing but expensive respectable parts like Spoon, AEM, Wilwood, Sparco, Apex'i, etc.. no cutting corners.

I remember seeing a 91 CRX with a C32 (NSX engine) in it online set up for road racing. That would be a very quick car but if its possible to do it for $17,000 I dont know.

I say that you should get a 1st gen Tiburon, and put a Alpine Turbo kit in it. *Which is $2.2k for everything...brakes, turbo, intercooler, etc. *Put in your listed parts which is becoming available rapidly. * the stock internals AND INJECTORS are good to 18 psi (rods are at 11, but easy to replace w/ crower rods). *and you liked the rx-7 for the rarity, right? *well how many tibby's are there on the road?!? *not many?!? *And it's a beautiful car. *Plus for $9k you can get an awd conversion * * !!!

That would probably be the first time anyone in South Carolina has a Civic picking up the front tires.

12-31-2001, 09:48 AM
That would be FUN

I'd get the EG Hatch with the B18C. There's so much more of an aftermarket for those cars. plus used parts are more readily available.

Clint man whats up. I'd go to the Hatch, there are some sick hatches rolling around with my motor. And the FWD can actually be a good thing. Spoon spoilers....Toda go fast goodies...tein suspension...thats the way to go. i can put you in touch with some people who have done similar projects

Get your favorite car: MUSTANG.

You seem kind of tall in a hatch IMHO.

I've made my decision and i stand 99.999% by it.
You'll like it, i gar-un-tee.
I may see your rear end at Test N Tune, but come Saluda Grade....hehehe A few people know of it

240sx right? right? *please dont get a hatch...no offense to the hatch people but clint, i believe the 240 would be the best for ya....just my opinion.

in fact, i may be lookin at one too...im going to be in the market for a new car soon and the 240 has been standing out at me lately.... but i really need a good project car for a newbie that is relatively inexpensive and easy to work on...anyone have any suggestions?

I'm sure a lot of people like 240sx's before you did. No offense. You just had the money before them.

I like Nissans but the only one in the US Id probably drive is a 300ZX twin turbo and If i was gonna get a V6 turbo it would probably be a Supra TT or an AWD Typhoon.

hey dude the reason why im lookin at a 240 is because of price, availability, and modification opportunities. other cars i am looking at would be like an eclipse or older Z or talon or even a dreaded HONDA!!!ahhhhhh!!!!! well anyway sorry to have copied you....lol

I'd go with the Eagle Talon TSI AWD. 210hp factory and AWD. Go to BuschurRacing.com and check out the modification opprotunities. 400hp isnt hard to come across.

well, unless i am on crack or something, the supra is an inline-6. Which is better than a v6, in terms of the amount of things to mod to get the same thing on an inline of flat 6.

I'm the one on crack here lets get that straight. How much could I pick up a twin turbo Supra for?

Impreza75
01-17-2002, 08:49 PM
I'd get the Typhoon, cause no one sees it comming from a 2 door Jimmy, LOL. Plus they are easy to mod.

01-18-2002, 08:33 AM
I'd rather have the Supra I dont think the 4.3L GMC engine can make 900hp on the stock bottom end. It is a much better sleeper though

Hightach Tibby

87.5+ mk 3 supra turbo is around $3,500-$6000 depending on the year

93.5+ mk 4 supra turbo is $25,000+ and the 6-speed twin turbo is unreal!!! Fast, but EXPENSIVE

VeilSideTwinT
01-19-2002, 01:02 PM
i can get a mk3 with average miles and turbo for 2500 and i can get a TT mk4 for around 16,000

Im sorry STRacer...but the Typhoon can reach 900 on stock bottom end. It is all in the fuel, Timing, and Simple out tunning.

I would go for anything turbo simply cause its very easy to mod, mods are cost effective on the turbo cars, and the fact that you can really take it to cars that have alot more money in them with something that came stock turbo or takes well to turbocharging!

Clint I did alot of research on the 240 since i used to have a 96 that was wrecked. I looked into most all swaps including the RB, SR, and VG. I have dreams of doing a Nissan one day! If you want to be all out raw and what to use the brain insted of the pocket you should keep the KA24 and internal the hell out of it. Then add a gear with LSD, JWT ecu, and LARGE TURBO and youll be very serious! I dont think the stock SR20DET is gonna make the cut without some work...

Show me a Typhoon that makes 900hp on the stock bottom end and it will make my day. I guess find one online Im not saying there isnt one.
