This isn't meant to offend anyone or bash any religion. It's actually geared more towards people who are interested in converting people to their own religion.
So...laziness, sloth, or whatever you wish to call it is considered a sin. The reasoning behind this is that you're supposed to put the gifts God gave you to full use. Now, most religious people I know take this literally in the physical sense (as in, you have to do work or put your talents to use). But what about the mental sense?
Assuming God exists and did indeed create us, he gave us many physical gifts, but he also gave us the mental gift of free thought. He gave us the ability to use logic and reasoning, and therefore also the ability to question our existance and our origin.
Based on this, wouldn't it also be a sin not to question whether God really exists? Wouldn't it be a sin to accept what any person or thing tells us as an unquestionable truth?
Thanks for your time.
