I had always wanted one of the older GTOs, they were very nice looking cars. The engines were always interesting, especially the tri-power manifolds with three 2bbl carburetors. :P

Call me crazy, but I'd buy a C5 Vette. Unless you want something different, and I can't blame you if you do because that's how I am. But if it were me, I'd buy a C5.

I'd buy a GTO and install the kit that converts it back to Holden Monaro looks. Pontiac styling FTL. :P

I was so excited when they said they were going to bring it over, thinking we'd finally get a nice classy high horsepower muscle car. Then they badge it as a pontiac and made it look like every damn Grand Prix or Grand Am on the road. Someone told me you can convert it back to the Monaro body, and that might have saved it for me.

The big chrome butt-grill, mostly. :D Besides, Holden is a GM company - I just don't care for Pontiac much, particularly their styling.

A little known fact - the head of Pontiac's design team that they hired a few years ago came from BMW, so he had the great BMW idea of putting that special BMW grill on everything they make. That's cool if you're BMW, but it doesn't translate well to Pontiac.

The notches in the hood for the grills, the "styling" vents. I just thought they had a perfectly nice, sleek car with the Monaro, then they said "You know what, slap some Grand Prix on there, noone's sick of THAT yet."

When was the last time you heard someone go "Man, that's an awesome Pontiac" . . . when Smokey and the Bandit came out? :D Did you notice the Firebird Trans Ams NEVER had the retarded Pontiac Grills? The Pontiac Solstice was another good example of what could have been an awesome car but Pontiac just said "See that nice clear area on the front? Let's slap a big chrome ass on there. Good old Pontiac ass chin. That's what America wants!"

Here's something to consider. This is my slow Mustang racing a GTO. My car is putting down 250 something HP/300 lb ft torque to the rear wheels.

Hey, I have a Pontiac Grand Prix and it's alright. Of course, I don't think the front and back were designed by the same person, but it's still fast as shit for a Daddy Car.

The car itself is solidly built and the top versions are quick. They just don't seem to change style, and when they do every other car in the lineup looks similar

Yeah, I have the GTP with the paddle shifters, and when you want to pass someone, all you have to do is think it, and the car is gone. I haven't modded it yet, but I figure with a pulley and some exhaust mods, it's gonna haul some serious ass.

I've had a couple problems with it, but the dealership has bent over backwards to fix every little thing. They picked it up today at my house and left us a 2007 Saab to use until they get it sorted out.

Apparently, Pontiac is unable to build a sunroof that doesn't leak rain, and it's a common problem on the GP... Hopefully they can sort it out.

I'm gonna drop it and put it on 18 or 19s, it should look sweet. Then, I need a bigger rear spoiler, because that dinky thing between the taillights looks stupid.

Haha, yeah it is like the same spoiler they put on the Sunfire. I would go with 19's on that car. I have seen bigger and it makes it look a little ghetto, but 18's are sort of standard on a lot of cars now. 19's would look sweet.

THANK you! I knew I couldn't be the only one that felt this way. Of course, if I was they wouldn't be making money bringing Monaro panels to the US for people who don't like the Pontiac look. :D

I know the styling is a bit lack luster, but for me that is the point.

I like the FD as much as the next guy, but spending $30k on a 14 year old car that's not made in Italy is pretty high up on the list of 'questionable life choices' :D

Exhaust does very little to improve the GTO's power.

The GTO has a more solid feeling chassis and luxury to boot than the Camo, who's chassis rattles and feels like a truck.

S6's are pretty bad ass. Saw one in downtown Manhattan today (probably some rich prick since he was pulling into the giant Wachovia Securities building). Those little white LED lights on the bumper really adds to the bad assery. :)

The old one came as a sedan also. Is the new one just the "Avant" or whatever they call a station wagon over there? If so, that fails majorly.
