The engines were always interesting, especially the tri-power manifolds with three 2bbl carburetors. :P You're telling me they were aiming for "The Judge"s design when they made that citrus rice explosion? :( LOL I pray to God, no. SpartanTS 10-03-2007, 09:33 AM Call me crazy, but I'd buy a C5 Vette. Unless you want something different, and I can't blame you if you do because that's how I am. But if it were me, I'd buy a C5. BATMAN 10-03-2007, 11:09 AM I'm looking for a 4-seater. The other option is a FX45 Richter12x2 10-03-2007, 12:10 PM I'd buy a GTO and install the kit that converts it back to Holden Monaro looks. Pontiac styling FTL. :P I was so excited when they said they were going to bring it over, thinking we'd finally get a nice classy high horsepower muscle car. Then they badge it as a pontiac and made it look like every damn Grand Prix or Grand Am on the road. Someone told me you can convert it back to the Monaro body, and that might have saved it for me. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/2/2753783_17d8997e98.jpg?v=0 cool_as_crap 10-03-2007, 02:03 PM Lol your so biased against GM it's funny. Now tell us exactly what is the difference between the body of that car and the GTO? Richter12x2 10-03-2007, 02:16 PM The big chrome butt-grill, mostly. :D Besides, Holden is a GM company - I just don't care for Pontiac much, particularly their styling. A little known fact - the head of Pontiac's design team that they hired a few years ago came from BMW, so he had the great BMW idea of putting that special BMW grill on everything they make. That's cool if you're BMW, but it doesn't translate well to Pontiac. wotnartd 10-03-2007, 02:26 PM Lol your so biased against GM it's funny. Now tell us exactly what is the difference between the body of that car and the GTO? The GTO is a rebadged Holden Monaro, and looks like ass? Richter12x2 10-03-2007, 03:00 PM The notches in the hood for the grills, the "styling" vents. I just thought they had a perfectly nice, sleek car with the Monaro, then they said "You know what, slap some Grand Prix on there, noone's sick of THAT yet." When was the last time you heard someone go "Man, that's an awesome Pontiac" . . . when Smokey and the Bandit came out? :D Did you notice the Firebird Trans Ams NEVER had the retarded Pontiac Grills? The Pontiac Solstice was another good example of what could have been an awesome car but Pontiac just said "See that nice clear area on the front? Let's slap a big chrome ass on there. Good old Pontiac ass chin. That's what America wants!" R281 10-03-2007, 07:40 PM Here's something to consider. This is my slow Mustang racing a GTO. My car is putting down 250 something HP/300 lb ft torque to the rear wheels. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v52/mustang281paula/th_MVI_2960.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v52/mustang281paula/?action=view¤t=MVI_2960.flv) I doubt it was a LS2 though. :D The new ones are faster, but their definately not faster than your FD. 2ndGen.Rocket 10-03-2007, 09:40 PM They look just like Grand Am's, Gran Prix, and everything else. GM has the most unimaginative styling ever, it's like there is a partial retard with one hand superglued to his dick drawing designs for these cars. $100T2 10-03-2007, 09:53 PM They look just like Grand Am's, Gran Prix, and everything else. GM has the most unimaginative styling ever, it's like there is a partial retard with one hand superglued to his dick drawing designs for these cars. Hey, I have a Pontiac Grand Prix and it's alright. Of course, I don't think the front and back were designed by the same person, but it's still fast as shit for a Daddy Car. 2ndGen.Rocket 10-03-2007, 09:58 PM The car itself is solidly built and the top versions are quick. They just don't seem to change style, and when they do every other car in the lineup looks similar $100T2 10-03-2007, 10:01 PM The car itself is solidly built and the top versions are quick. They just don't seem to change style, and when they do every other car in the lineup looks similar Yeah, I have the GTP with the paddle shifters, and when you want to pass someone, all you have to do is think it, and the car is gone. I haven't modded it yet, but I figure with a pulley and some exhaust mods, it's gonna haul some serious ass. Like I said, it's wicked fast for something I can tote the kids around in. 2ndGen.Rocket 10-03-2007, 10:06 PM Yeah, I remember you telling me. The GTP is a fast car. The best part is that they are reliable, you don't have to ever do anything to those cars, especially with the warranty. $100T2 10-03-2007, 10:17 PM Yeah, I remember you telling me. The GTP is a fast car. The best part is that they are reliable, you don't have to ever do anything to those cars, especially with the warranty. I've had a couple problems with it, but the dealership has bent over backwards to fix every little thing. They picked it up today at my house and left us a 2007 Saab to use until they get it sorted out. Apparently, Pontiac is unable to build a sunroof that doesn't leak rain, and it's a common problem on the GP... Hopefully they can sort it out. I'm gonna drop it and put it on 18 or 19s, it should look sweet. Then, I need a bigger rear spoiler, because that dinky thing between the taillights looks stupid. 2ndGen.Rocket 10-03-2007, 10:25 PM I've had a couple problems with it, but the dealership has bent over backwards to fix every little thing. Haha, yeah it is like the same spoiler they put on the Sunfire. I would go with 19's on that car. I have seen bigger and it makes it look a little ghetto, but 18's are sort of standard on a lot of cars now. 19's would look sweet. $100T2 10-03-2007, 10:45 PM I'll probably do something like these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/19-Black-Wheels-Rims-Pontiac-Grand-Am-Prix-GTO_W0QQitemZ260166946831QQihZ016QQcategoryZ43959Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem My GP is black, it would look nice with black wheels and a chrome lip. 2ndGen.Rocket 10-03-2007, 10:58 PM Yeah they would probably look damn good Richter12x2 10-04-2007, 08:05 AM They look just like Grand Am's, Gran Prix, and everything else. GM has the most unimaginative styling ever, it's like there is a partial retard with one hand superglued to his dick drawing designs for these cars. THANK you! I knew I couldn't be the only one that felt this way. Of course, if I was they wouldn't be making money bringing Monaro panels to the US for people who don't like the Pontiac look. :D BATMAN 10-04-2007, 10:12 AM I know the styling is a bit lack luster, but for me that is the point. A sleeper look. ALso, the LS2 in anything for that price is a bargain.... Richter12x2 10-04-2007, 10:17 AM The sleeper look is why I like the Monaro in the first place - disliking the Pontiac styling has more to do with being against the "let's take a cool car and make it look like a car a high schooler would drive" grand am look. :D No doubt though, it is a sweet car. It just went from being a sweet car I wouldn't pay for due to the Pontiac styling, to a car I would pick up if I got a deal on because I could change it back to Holden/GM styling. cool_as_crap 10-04-2007, 10:18 AM Sleeper is goood cool_as_crap 10-04-2007, 10:19 AM The sleeper look is why I like the Monaro in the first place - disliking the Pontiac styling has more to do with being against the "let's take a cool car and make it look like a car a high schooler would drive" grand am look. :D No doubt though, it is a sweet car. I'm sure it isn't that hard to just convert the front end :bigthumb: Richter12x2 10-04-2007, 10:20 AM yeah it just bolts right on from what I hear. I'd love a black "Holden" GTO. But if you're talking about 'sleeper' you better stay away from that orange thing up there. That's so loud you'll wake the neighbors! rotorman85!! 10-04-2007, 02:08 PM The only two people i know who have the GTO with the ls2 are not that happy with tha car. One guy has intake header's and full exhuast and he lost to my bud's 01 SS camo with intake and gear's. The second guy has an exhuast and he lost to my bud's mild 300zxtt. Im not very impressed with em at all. IHI 10-07-2007, 01:19 AM LS2 + FD = $20-30k and piles of win! Richter12x2 10-08-2007, 09:38 AM I like the FD as much as the next guy, but spending $30k on a 14 year old car that's not made in Italy is pretty high up on the list of 'questionable life choices' :D BATMAN 10-08-2007, 09:44 AM The only two people i know who have the GTO with the ls2 are not that happy with tha car. Im not very impressed with em at all. Exhaust does very little to improve the GTO's power. The GTO has a more solid feeling chassis and luxury to boot than the Camo, who's chassis rattles and feels like a truck. 30zxTT.... it's modified and anything goes with a car that is already forced induction, but it's not a 4-seater. wotnartd 10-08-2007, 09:54 AM yeah it just bolts right on from what I hear. Richter12x2 10-08-2007, 03:11 PM You'd just have to sit directly on the intake manifold to make it fit in the body of the car. :D Say No To Pistons 10-08-2007, 03:50 PM Sell all your cars and get a M5. 2ndGen.Rocket 10-08-2007, 03:53 PM Sell all your cars and get a M5. That would make sense, if he could get $45k a piece for an FD and NSX. Not a chance in hell though. Say No To Pistons 10-08-2007, 04:01 PM Well he SHOULD have a fat wallet since he does liek to brag about his neighborhood. BATMAN 10-08-2007, 04:48 PM I don't care for the BMW look. I was seriously thinking of a E55, but the reliability concerns are a real issue. Say No To Pistons 10-09-2007, 01:55 PM S6's are pretty bad ass. Saw one in downtown Manhattan today (probably some rich prick since he was pulling into the giant Wachovia Securities building). Those little white LED lights on the bumper really adds to the bad assery. :) cool_as_crap 10-09-2007, 03:21 PM Just wait a couple more years til the new camaro comes out. Richter12x2 10-09-2007, 03:41 PM Or the new Challenger, but I thought he said he was looking for a 4 door? wotnartd 10-09-2007, 03:43 PM You'd just have to sit directly on the intake manifold to make it fit in the body of the car. :D Put some heat wrap over it and call it a day. Gabberguy 10-10-2007, 06:32 AM What about the new Audi RS6? http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/audi_rs6.asp mmmm Say No To Pistons 10-10-2007, 07:43 AM +1 for V10 mommy wagon that sounds like a Lambo. Richter12x2 10-10-2007, 11:03 AM +1 to RS6, I'd rock that so hard my pants would fall off. 2ndGen.Rocket 10-11-2007, 07:30 PM Bah, it's a ridiculous car but I could never drive a wagon. I still stand behind the RS4. I feel like that car does not get as much praise as it should, I haven't gone for a test drive in one yet but it looks like an absolutely badass ride. Say No To Pistons 10-11-2007, 08:40 PM Would you choose the RS4 over the IS-F? Richter12x2 10-12-2007, 09:49 AM Bah, it's a ridiculous car but I could never drive a wagon. I still stand behind the RS4. I feel like that car does not get as much praise as it should, I haven't gone for a test drive in one yet but it looks like an absolutely badass ride. The old one came as a sedan also. Is the new one just the "Avant" or whatever they call a station wagon over there? If so, that fails majorly. Gabberguy 10-12-2007, 09:52 AM I read that it will come as a sedan to:) apparently in august 2008. Richter12x2 10-12-2007, 11:30 AM That'd be worthy, although no doubt incredibly expensive, just like the last one. BATMAN 10-12-2007, 12:07 PM It's all relative. For the sorta HP it's not that bad. |
