Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was taken to hospital Sunday because he didn't feel well. Sharon suffered a minor stroke, Channel 10 TV reported. He was taken to an emergency ward in Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital.

He was awake and undergoing tests, a hospital spokesperson said. Sharon, 77, recently precipitated a crisis in Israel by leaving the conservative Likud Party and starting a new party closer to the middle of the political spectrum.

His vision of making peace with the Palestinians will be tested in an election set for March. Sharon, a former war hero and long-time politician, became prime minister in 2000. His departure from Likud followed his decision to pull Israeli settlers and soldiers from Gaza, which angered many conservative politicians and the settlers.

It amazes me that that bloated fucker is still alive.
