It's four wheel drive, too... Remember, I live in snow country. There is obviously something wrong with it, but damn, for $550, it could be a steal. I already bought one project car, but should I go for the Bronco, too?

$100T2 08-18-2005, 12:22 PM There's a local guy with a 93 or so full-size Bronco for sale. From what I can see, there is ZERO rust on it. He was originally asking $1200 for it. Then it went down to $850. Now it's down to $550. It's four wheel drive, too... Remember, I live in snow country. There is obviously something wrong with it, but damn, for $550, it could be a steal. I already bought one project car, but should I go for the Bronco, too? DarkAngelKamui 08-18-2005, 12:31 PM You forgot the option "Stop trying to buy so many damn cars" stinky277 08-18-2005, 12:31 PM Buy it. Since you live in Rhode Island(I think) your gonna love owning it when the snow gets to 6+ inches. Plus it probably has a tow hitch so you can tow cars if you need to. The price keeps dropping on it because the owner is probably desperate to get rid of it. $100T2 08-18-2005, 12:34 PM Well, I already have an Audi w/ quattro, so the snow isn't too big of a deal, but yeah, the towing capability would be nice to have. I'm figuring the tranny or engine is shot. Say No To Pistons 08-18-2005, 12:58 PM buy it! hmm rhode island eh? thats where my mothers QX4 came from. Alex-7 08-18-2005, 01:08 PM Buy it, fix it, sell it. ComradeGiant 08-18-2005, 02:01 PM If it wasn't a 93 I'd say go for it. But the Bronco went downhill around that time. And its probably got electrical gremlins that make it not worth the time. Thats generally why the price drops like that. "So, whats wrong with it?" "Well it (insert weird thing here)." "Wow... fuck that." Cosby 08-18-2005, 02:11 PM buy it... if you dont catch what is wrong with it why would anyone else? maniacmikey 08-18-2005, 04:25 PM find out what engine it has in it if it is the 5 liter run don't walk from it.if it is the 351 or 5.7 liter go for it.also look behind the doors near the top of the truck. if there are rust holes or torn metal you know it had been beat up pretty hard off road. the bodys have a lot of flex to them since they are built on the shortbed truck chasis. it can be hard to close the hood when the truck is sitting at an angle on a trail.they all leak oil figure a quart every 1500 miles or so. iamdrunk 08-18-2005, 09:39 PM If it wasn't a 93 I'd say go for it. But the Bronco went downhill around that time. That damn OJ. $100T2 08-19-2005, 07:06 AM It's moot. It was sold. meddle 08-19-2005, 02:01 PM Those are good to steal the 351w out of for fc's. 2ndGen.Rocket 08-19-2005, 03:04 PM Funny you said that, my friend has a 93' in Jersey with a fucked up transfer case that is just sitting in his driveway right now. I was thinking about getting it off of him for like 200 bucks and fixing it up. Those trucks are absolute beasts. A little tough to hold on to when you're on the highway, and they take up the entire lane, but fun nonetheless. |
