So it's got 180k on it? That's rough.

The motor in my car blew around 178k.

But the price is right.... until things go south.

I say do it. DOOOOOO EEEEEEEEEEET.

I'm going to hop on the subway and take a long ride to the Bronx right now... If all goes well i'm going to come back, get my moolah and head back up again. My mom wants nothing to do with it and won't even let me put it under her name (even though i'm paying for it) and she refuses to let me park it in her driveway. I have no choice but to put it under my best friend's girlfriend's name (she's 18) and park at at her dad's house in Staten Island.

woah...if it's gonna be that much of a hassle then it might be a bad idea to get it.

We'll see how it goes. I'm going up with my friend and his girl to check out the car now.

It isn't worth the hassle of transporting, even if you got it for free. Say bye to your $300 and hello to headaches.

I didn't buy it. I'm not going to buy a POS 4 lug in that condition. THe rust was so terrible, the driver side was disgusting. I can push the carpet up from under the car. RUst holes everywhere and the driver side quarter panel had a big rust spot that looked like a 5x10 inch ulcer... Oh yeah, and it wouldn't start.

Oh well, i'll find another one.

Too bad i'm in NYC. The MOST ghetto rx7s on earth. Someone i know found a s5 n/a with less than 70k on it, lets jsut say... it's one hell of a deal.. Problem is, i'm short 200 bucks and it will be gone on tuesday. SO i only have 24 hours or so to get the money. What should i do?

One fatty for $200? Or 10 fatties for $20 each? Or you can make an offer?

Sorry about the FC.

You can have my POS FC for $1200... it's a drivable parts car.

I've looked at 5 RX-7 so far... I didn't buy any of them. I had a chance to buy a primered 91 N/A for 1200 but i turned it down because it's oil cooler hose started on his way from Queens (he dropped it off at the garage in queens on his way here from bronx because a belt snapped) leaking. Poor guy had to drive it back to the Bronx with an oil leak. But i honestly think the new FC i'm looking at right now is a great deal, i just need to get 200 bucks together (somehow).

You're right, but it's hard to see that when you want something really bad.

I've turned down 5 rx7s and it's been a year. I think it's time to put my money down.

Please don't settle. Buy something you will be happy with for a long time. It took me 2 years or so to buy my first fun car.

I'll try. I want something that can perfectly match what i want because once i buy a car i will keep it for a really long time (IF i do keep it and not sell it because i'm a broke ass).

Where are you working?

If you're not doing anything, have you seriously thought about starting your own car wash/detailing business? You can save your money and buy a water tank and supplies instead of a beater car. I'm assuming you can use one of your parent's cars to two the tank around.

You can go to businesses and see if they will allow you wash employee vehicles. You'll need some fliers to get the word out. If mobile isn't your thing, you can base it from your parents driveway.

A buddy of a buddy started his car detailing business a few years back and he now owns a few homes. You might want to think about it. Oh and don't over charge at first.

I have tried posting the ad on rx8club, nico, and nyra. A few people were interested but they were flaky. I have the equipment to do detailing if there is a source of electricity and water. I don't even think i would need a water tank. Just a big 5 gallon barrel of water will do since i have special rinse free formulas that won't do any damage to the paint. I can probably buy an a/c convector or some sort of battery jumper with a 120v output so i can use my polisher. I just need customers and people to spread the word so i can get more customers. There are lots of cheap people in NYC and many don't give a flying crap about their car's condition (i wouldn't blame them, every car is bound to get scratches and dents in NYC).

Keep trying to get the word out my man. You only have to show what you can do on a few cars at a reasonable price and word will get around.

I think he'd be better off with something reliable, easy and cheap to fix... some type of STOCK honda/acura

I have a holding tank in my camper that you can have...you could put it in a wagon along with a generator and have all everything you need.

Thanks for the offer. If i'm going to start up something big, it's going to be next year at the earliest.
