Right around a year ago, my streetported 13B 4 port blew a hole through the spark plug port. The car has been sitting ever since. A month or so ago, I went all out, ordering $2900 worth of parts from Mazdaspeed in order to rebuild my engine. Well, I ran out of money before I could finish; so, I did the logical thing and sent everything back.
We (my father and I) knew a guy who had built an NA FC racecar and in his first race, he flipped the car. He wanted $2500 for the wrecked racecar, the stock wheels and tires, a stock motor, and a shell. So, yesterday, that car came to my house. For shits and giggles, I blasted down the road in this car with absolutely straight exhaust and no windsheild. After having a little fun, I started the teardown. In 2 hours, I had the motor ready to be pulled, but I ran out of light.
Today I finished the job, and the motor is now sitting in my garage. Tomorrow I am dropping off my radiator to have a new 3 core put in it and have my oil cooler flushed. I need to order a few seals, put my -SE oil pan on, and order an -SE front cover. After that, I'm dropping in the motor, putting the rad and shit back in, and slapping my Mikuni 44PPH on it.
The motor is comprised of aggresively streetported S4 N/A irons, FD housings (with water jacket mod), S5 N/A rotors, and 5/6th ports completely removed.
I took video of the motor running in the racecar, but my video camera is being really douchebagish and won't connect to my computer. I will take pictures when the real fun starts.
If any of you guys want the ignition system off of this car, let me know. I won't need it, and I know a bunch of you guys like to do the FC Direct Fire system.
