Does this mean that all Christians should practice some forms of Judaism?

How come Christianity and Judaism are different in many ways...

I think it is possible to have a combination of beliefs from different faiths

Just a bunch of randomness

but what about the different belief structures...Although Jesus was Jewish, the Jews do not share many beliefs that Christians do.

seems that most of the conversation around here revolves around the old testament

I don't think he's read the Torah, or the Old Testament either.

I have but I do not read it on a daily basis or can I site specific chapters or verses from the top of my head. They were just questions I brought to the table, do you two want to enlighten me?

Tofuball

Well, not to offend, but the questions you're asking are not showing me that you've not really read the whole thing, or even really skimmed it.

It's like someone pointing to my RX-7 and telling me how he heard it has issues blowing head gaskets and that the valves are actually from a Kia.

EDIT: Added a modifier!

Also:

I do want to "enlighten" you, but I really don't know where to start, especially if you're asking questions like that, other then to say go read your bible :P

I guess you could have gotten one of those really bad translations (bad paraphrase).

Ok I understand where you are coming from, but I just like to hear others viewpoints sometimes.

I really do not spend a lot of time studying religion, but it interests me that yzf sees nothing but one single religion and everyone else's beliefs are wrong. I think it is quite a bit broader then that. Most religions seem to bring similarities to the table and some people seem to thing that there's is better then everyone else. When in all reality all should be respected and although your views may be different then mine we are all trying to get to the same (similar) place when we die, or peace with God and ourselves during our daily lives

Well, I'm sure you can agree to this, that truth isnt something you can pick through like a buffet. It's either true or it's not. I don't understand why people approach spirituality/religion/whatever as if it's just about "what you like" or "I'm just being me"

If Yahweh (Jehova) is the one and only God, it is written in the Torah; "You shall have no other gods before me"

Therefore, if YZF believes the Bible is true, then his actions are correct and not at odds with his beliefs.

. . .

Also, the internet is not a big truck that you can just dump stuff on.

It's a series of tubes.

I think everyone here needs to go read "Lamb"
http://www.amazon.com/Lamb-Gospel-According-Christs-Childhood/dp/0380813815/sr=8-1/qid=1167376494/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-2419878-8716616?ie=UTF8&s=books

Read it, love it.

Have you read the book YZF? Get down off your high horse, get over your severe case of Interrectal Cranial disorder, and read it. You might actually learn something.

Funny that you should tell him to read your book (and mocking him when he wont) when you haven't really read his.

there is an increasing amount of satire and mockery

it's a relentless attack against God and His Christ, right up and through the time of Tribulation

they will all be swept away....

I am in no way mocking you...just looking for explanations other then direct Bible quotes.

And why are people so quick to judge others because of their beliefs or differences in religions. Shouldn't others be respected or forgiven even if they may be on the wrong path

Not true. I have read the bible. I am open minded enough to read what others base their lives and beliefs on. You are wise enough to reason on your own logic and use the Bible to back up these logical statements. YZF on the other hand just spouts Bible Verses without any real thought process on his own.
All I'm saying is everyone has their own beliefs and thats okay, thats what makes this country great. If I can read the bible, YZF can read lamb. It's not a demonic possession of the bible or any b.s. like that. It's a story, and it follows the stories in the bible....the only source that the book cites...yup you guessed it, is the bible. So open your mind, free think, and try something new. It won't hurt you.

Ok I'm going to simplify this.

Jesus was the "Gospel of GOD V2" that the Jews got in the mail. They opened it and was like "hell no I'm not installing this shit on my computer" and they threw it in the trash. So Christ's church went on without them. Adam and Eve had "Gospel of GOD V1".

Sort of like when GOD came out with the "Gospel of GOD V3" with the Mormons.

At some point it's time to go on to bigger things. Because as a race when have grown and matured. Like Vista.:bigthumb:

no, you're going to introduce Mormon doctrines: "doctrines of demons"

Oh you make me laugh.

You are just like the Jews. You got a new version in the mail and threw it away. But that's ok GOD and I still love you.

LOVE :peace:

the God of the O.T. is the same God of the N.T.....no change

The GOD of the O.T. is the same GOD of the N.T. is the same GOD of the B.O.M........no change just additions.

I don't want to change the point of this thread. I just wanted to point to the parallels in how Jews rejected the leadership of Christ and how a lot of Christians have rejected his leadership again.

So I’m sorry.

Continue on without me.

Please correct me with the details, all I can do is paraphrase the story I heard. (it must have been the history channel)

From a historical perspective there were two main groups of early Christians. Some believed that Christianity was only for the Jews and the others believed that Christianity was for everyone.

The first group mainly believed that Jesus was a great rabbi, not necessarily a son of God. They did not believe in miracles. They also were very much against the Roman rule of Jerusalem. The Romans fought them, and eventually killed them all off. (I forget the name of the city the siege ended at)

That belief structure of Christianity is dead and gone because of their political beliefs.

The other group of Christians were not originally Jews. They believed that Jesus was the son of God. They believed in miracles. They didn't care about the Roman rule of Jerusalem.

They lived on to build what eventually became the Catholic church with very little Jewish influence.

I always find it interesting when politics has a strong effect on the content of religous beliefs. (of course in the earliest days religion and politics were the same thing)

I don't think he's read the Torah, or the Old Testament either.

You mean the Tanakh. The Torah is only the first 5 books of Moses

Truth is unchanged by human affairs or agendas,
What you consider truth may be unchanged for your lifetime but the interpretation of a religion as it passes through the ages is strongly affected by who is left alive to perpetuate their beliefs.

It amuses me to hear about how the public perception of truth changes based on the political climate of history.

Christianity could have easily been the vehicle for mindless violence similar to the expresion of muslim faith today if the dice had tumbled a bit differently.

Oh wait, it already was.
