I have outgrown my old box surprisingly fast in the last month and am looking for more options. The Craftsman Pro series looks sweet, but its pretty much the same price as the Snap-On's without as many drawers or as many options.

Supper 07-15-2007, 10:57 AM Anyone know if you can go straight to the manufacturer of the Snap-On boxes and get them at a cheaper price then direct from Snap-On? Supper 07-15-2007, 01:11 PM Try craigslist for a used one? I've found quite a few of them that are close to what I'm looking for. Other then they are Red :blah: I'm talking to my Snap-On dealer right now about selling me a roll cab and a couple socket sets at cost. If she doesn't come through, pretty sure I can talk my Craftsman dealer into selling me a -huge- list of tools at cost since we normally just buy from him without asking for a price. Tofuball 07-16-2007, 07:45 AM There is a fellow here in Mt Airy that I buy almost all my tools from, he sells used stuff for great prices. I dont know if you'd want him to ship a toolbox though :P Tons of Snap-on, MAC, MATCO, Bluepoint, etc etc stuff. PM if you want his contact info. 2ndGen.Rocket 07-16-2007, 09:33 AM There is a fellow here in Mt Airy that I buy almost all my tools from, he sells used stuff for great prices. Tofuball 07-16-2007, 11:07 AM Nop, Silver Spring. My friend is in Mt Airy. 2ndGen.Rocket 07-16-2007, 11:12 AM Ah. HeavyFoot86 07-18-2007, 03:42 PM I just want an actual tool chest. Not the 4 drawer plastic thing my sockets came in and a soft bag for my carpenter tools. I guess I need a garage or a shed first. Just go talk to some local mechanics and see who their tool rep is. The snap-on guy and the Mac guy swing by the shop I go to at least once a week, they'd probably be your best bet. Animal 07-18-2007, 10:38 PM I just want an actual tool chest. Not the 4 drawer plastic thing my sockets came in and a soft bag for my carpenter tools. I guess I need a garage or a shed first. I'm looking for the garage/shed/house thing myself too... :D Srsly though, I need to merge all my toolboxes into one. I really hate lugging aroudn two toolboxes and a box of ICs/etc when I work on electronics stuff. I've been thinking about one of those big wheeled thingies, with all the removable 15"x12"x1" bin thingies. Sort ICs in one bin, resistors/diodes/caps/etc in another, connectors in another, screws in another. Need a big bin for breadboard, screwdrivers/pliers/etc, and storage space for soldering station and other larger items. Then I throw that in the back of my truck, head up to the tower/office/whatever, and off I go. HeavyFoot86 07-19-2007, 12:03 PM Yep, we're thinking alike Animal. |
