the beaches in LA arent that good....we typically go to Biloxi-Gulfport, MS area or to Rockport, TX, about a half hour this side of Corpus Christi. TX is nicer, IMO, especially since Katrina killed the Biloxi area. If you want to go fishing, then LA works, but if you want to go sit on the beach, then I would look to one of those two places. This year it looks like we may be taking a trip to Clearwater FL, not sure yet....the beaches there are sweet.
