Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 08:50 AM Wtf...
Tonights Forecast: Windy with periods of rain and snow. Low 33F. Winds W at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of precip 80%. A slushy accumulation of around one inch. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.
It's only ~1 inch, but it's fucking October! I don't remember snow in October around these parts.
DarkAngelKamui 10-28-2008, 09:02 AM Lucky
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 09:11 AM Lucky? It's not even enough to warrant not going to work or going snowboarding.
DarkAngelKamui 10-28-2008, 09:12 AM Still, I've yet to see even an inch of snow around my parts for YEARS.
I'd at least like to see some powder this year, regardless of the amount.
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 09:18 AM Go to Buffalo. They already have a foot on the ground. :D
aznpoopy 10-28-2008, 09:26 AM snow is great. but not on the daily commute.
Fendamonky 10-28-2008, 09:29 AM I'd at least like to see some powder this year, regardless of the amount.
When are you going to Boot Camp again??? You'll be out in your smurfs in the middle of a fucking blizzard =P
It's supposed to rain/slush here, possibly snow. DO NOT WANT!!! I don't have a jacket to wear to work yet (old ones were stolen/reclaimed by Uncle Sam), and I won't be getting my winter DD for another week.. I'm *not* keen on snow yet
loling@images of vert snowboarding
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 09:32 AM Get one of the old fashioned Navy peacoats.

May 09, so luckily I'll miss out on that snow duty shit. lol, I'll just have to worry about the summer heat.
Of course, I still need to put a new set of tires on my car before it's ready for any powder. So if it WOULD snow, I'd want it to wait till the weekend. :D
Get one of the old fashioned Navy peacoats.
Thanks for reminding me. I've gotta try and buy my buddy one.

Don't forget the Paddington Bear Hat too. :bigthumb:
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 10:26 AM I wish I could say that was the reason I left Western NY. I miss being able to jump off the balcony in to six feet or more of snow. Just not in October...that's kind of freaky...
oakback 10-28-2008, 10:56 AM Still, I've yet to see even an inch of snow around my parts for YEARS.
Haha, I've never seen an inch of snow.
I've seen maybe 1/2", maximum (and that was in NC).

Meh, that's still not comparable since you're down south. Up here in D.C., the last times we've seen significant amounts of snow were in 1996 and 2003...
I think it's about goddamn time for some snow.
Just sold my 4x4... all I'm rockin is RWD... it didn't snow at all last winter, watch it be a bad winter.
Oh well, I love cummins anyway, I need to buy one.
Steel 10-28-2008, 12:15 PM Must be all of that global warming, eh?
I don't miss shoveling that shit off of my driveway. And driving in it.
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 12:17 PM Driving in it can be fun. Used to get sideways like a mofo in my GTI.

They don't make them like they used to... not as warm as you'd think, they are WAY too expensive, and mark you as military from a mile away.
And, believe it or not, despite my bitching about a jacket, I'm perfectly fine with a little bit of UnderArmor (cold gear) and a long-sleeved T-shirt. I did morning pt sessions in nothing but pants, boots, underarmor and a white undershirt during the '02-'03 winter (the one DAK mentioned as getting snow) and was perfectly warm. My hands were cold through my gloves, but that's because they were in about 1-2 inches of watery/snowy slush. Only problem with my underarmor is that it's blue, and I need to have a white undershirt on.. the collar of the underarmor shows above my undershirt =(

Underarmor is good stuff. Except their shoes. Don't buy their shoes.

Hehe, I have a BIIIIIIG secluded parking lot at work and since I am so close, I can easily swing by there in the late night for some fun with the GTI. I usually don't, but I am actually looking forward to this winter (in more ways than just e-brake sliding).
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 02:09 PM I hope I can write my name with pee in the snow tomorrow morning. I doubt it though with ~1".

Yeah, you need at least a 2" wang to pull off that sort of stunt :peace:
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 02:20 PM 2" from the ground, son.
dg123 10-28-2008, 02:21 PM Zing!
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 03:12 PM Forecast upgraded to 2" of potential snow!
"Windy with a mixture of rain and snow this evening. Then snow showers overnight. Low 33F. Winds W at 20 to 30 mph. 1 to 2 inches of wet snow expected."
Hooray!
Turbo II Rotor 10-28-2008, 03:43 PM I saw some snow today in NJ, woot.
dubc87 10-28-2008, 04:19 PM couple places around my area got almost 2 inches..shits crazy, gettin snow this early...major blizzard this winter perhaps? i think we're due for one
wotnartd 10-28-2008, 04:26 PM +1....why I left MI
The only thing bigger than your ego: your pussy. :p
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 04:47 PM It was awesome on the commute home because it's 30 degrees out (below that with windchill) and raining...
Freezing rain is awesome to drive in! Also saw a total of 2 trees down on power lines, but alas...I haz da powa!
$100T2 10-28-2008, 09:27 PM We're supposed to get snow showers tonight and tomorrow. At least Halloween will be sunny and 60 or so.
I have to switch the GTP from the 20s back to the 17s and put the 'vert away til March. :(
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 09:31 PM No noticed snowfall so far. Unless it happened and didn't stick and I missed it.
Thanks for the update.
Keep us posted.
wotnartd 10-28-2008, 10:00 PM I drove my FC in TWO UP winters. Car got stuck in the parking lot a lot, because ice mounded around the tires. And they'd just spin, lots of bald tire winter driving, and the car just dominated. I think the good weight distribution is what did it.
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 10:02 PM Ever have a car so low that when the snow starts accumulating you start plowing? That's the shit right there.
wotnartd 10-28-2008, 10:05 PM Ever have a car so low that when the snow starts accumulating you start plowing? That's the shit right there.
Every car I've owned.
Ever drive a light RWD car in a blinding snowstorm that was so bad the plows came off the road and you had no idea which side of the road you were on?
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 10:07 PM That sounds like a white out. They have them daily in Western NY. I-90 (which is what becomes the Massachusetts Turnpike way east) is notorious for being shut down completely at times due to white outs.
Ever heard of lake effect?
yeah, Vert probably would win any snow stories considering he used to live in that shithole known as buffalo. Absolutely crazy the amounts of snow they get.
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 10:15 PM Absolutely crazy the amounts of kids that are born in the summer too. Coincidence?
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 10:19 PM Either that or Western NY is about to invade Canada.
heh, given their sucess record, I'd bet against them in just about anything.
Vert8813B 10-28-2008, 10:22 PM Given Canada's war record, I wouldn't have enough information. :-X
taking the high road here?

czarofzar 10-29-2008, 06:05 AM its bullshit i tell ya. I should be there....well, its a tad cold,,,,nm
Fendamonky 10-29-2008, 06:34 AM 2" from the ground, son.
You measure by laying on your stomach too???
Vert8813B 10-29-2008, 07:19 AM I do cock pushups from my stomach, yes. I can get 2" off the ground that way.
Vert8813B 10-29-2008, 07:20 AM Oh and I had no snow on the ground in my area this morning. Must have only been in the higher elevations.
