I heard Mercury treats their customers like shit if u make a claim. I will admit that while State Farm is not cheap, they have treated me like royalty. This is one insurance company that will make an effort to pay u more for ur damages and think of areas that might be damaged.
I heard from a few friends that Ameriprize are pretty good. They don't have a high overhead and contract out to 3rd parties adjusters.
The guy that I got the quote from is Chad at Ext. 5730, Super professional.
Say No To Pistons 08-24-2005, 09:03 AM no Nation Wide there?
BATMAN 08-24-2005, 09:11 AM never heard of them so that must mean that they suck..............
Say No To Pistons 08-24-2005, 09:19 AM cheapest here in new york. well the cheapest i found (yeah its cheaper than geico, esurance, and allstate).
RB240 08-24-2005, 10:41 AM What i dont understand is how i went to some "hole in the wall" sorta speak. This place based in Georgia (keep in mind i live in FL) and they pulled up a clean record on me. Only charged me like 90 bucks a month. Then I go with someone a little more name (cuz you know how that goes) thinking I would have better coverage and so I go with geico who pulled up my record and see a fuckin accident chillin on my record. Doesn't make any fuckin sense. Yes, I got into an accident a year before I got the in-case-shit from the hole in the wall. so it just doesnt make sense. :shrugs: It will just fall off next year in may anyways.

Nationwide is a national company. I'm surprised you've never heard of them. I've been with State Farm since I've been able to drive (18 years now), and they've always treated me incredibly, as well as given me very competitive rates. I say stick with them.
BATMAN 08-24-2005, 10:29 PM u might change ur mind once ur rates go up, thanks to the FL hurricaines.
My folks were first and they never made a claim in their life.
I just got my increase.
skrewloose78 08-24-2005, 11:10 PM those are not too bad. did you check with progressive? i was involved in an accident w/ a lady that had progressive, the adjuster contacted me(i didnt even have to call them),came to my job to look at the car, wrote the estimate right there and cut me a check for the amount on the spot in less than 15 minutes. i was very satisfied with their customer service.

My family has Mercury, when I got in an accident and totalled a 2001 Mustang V6 (yeah, I'm a lot more careful now), they promptly sent us a check for about $12,500, after my dad turned down an offer for trade in from the Volvo dealership for $8500. There is almost no way we could have got what they paid us trying to sell it to a private party. My insurance is understandably expensive on an FD with an accident at my age, but they sure did treat us well on the claim.
BATMAN 08-25-2005, 08:26 AM seems like i hear horror and good stories on both ends for each companies.
My freind used to work as a claims adjuster for Progressive at $40k/year with free company car and gas.
He said that Progressive is really for people with shitty driving records.
We have good and bad adjusters at Mercury. I'd like to think I was one of the good ones before I moved into underwriting.
It really comes down to who you get as an adjuster. I used to deal with bad adjusters in all the major insurance companies. I would say Wawanesa (San Diego based company) had the best adjusters all around and allstate had the highest number of bad adjusters. Mercury, believe it or not, is somewhere in the middle.
However, this is just my personal experience. You can go to the DOI's website and check the number of complaints from every insurance company.
Tofuball 08-01-2006, 07:19 AM I've had:
Erie (terrable service, mega-cheep, not worth it)
Progressive (when I crashed my mustang, mediocre to bad service, terrable rates)
State Farm (I'm with them now, somewhat high rates, but worth it, as said, they treat you like royalty! Also, I got renters insurence from them, and that lowered my car insurence rates so much that my total net expenses went DOWN)
Say No To Pistons 08-01-2006, 07:27 AM nice bump man.
nice bump man.lolllll
