fill my 10lb nitrous bottle there. I asked how much it was going to be and he said a little under $50.00. I smiled and told him I would go somewhere else. I told him that his price was unreasonable.
I have to mention that the last time I filled a nitrous bottle, it cost me $38.00 for a 10lb bottle. This was a few years back mind you.
I got him to go down to $40.00 cash after some negotiating. I checked with my friend a few minutes ago and he told me that $4.56 a lb is reasonable now (year 2007).
Boy, I feel like a jackass for low balling that guy. I saved some money, but I still doesn't make up for my behavior.
What do you guys think?
TVS50LX 03-21-2007, 10:26 PM Around here it about $4.00 a lb filled. Just tell him that you havent bought nitrous in a while, he will get over it.
Do they charge tax for that or is that included? I can't remember.
Meaning $4.00 a lb + tax or just $4.00 lb (tax included)
Terrh 03-21-2007, 11:35 PM its like, $8/lb here.
owned = us.

Take it to a place like airgas and have it hydroed and the valve checked out.

Say No To Pistons 03-22-2007, 02:08 PM I think you're a pussy.
Eatmyclutch 03-22-2007, 05:54 PM What about a 5-finger discount of laughing gas at the hopital?
I think you're a pussy.
you can suck it easy
AmishBoy 03-22-2007, 06:37 PM you can suck it easy
Well come on now. This is what you said.
"Boy, I feel like a jackass for low balling that guy. I saved some money, but I still doesn't make up for my behavior.

That does kind of sound boo hoo.
Damn Amish, do I have to use smilies everytime I post? :D
edit: boo hoo? really?

fuck hydro... UT it. Much better idea of the corrosion situation, and it's cheaper/faster than hydro. No de-valving/re-valving required.
dreadseb 03-22-2007, 10:44 PM Well just think of your situation like this, he did whatever he had to to keep you his customer happy. Even if it meant he lost a few bucks on this sale, he's also got the better chance of you coming back again than if he'd charged you the full 50. It's a win win. Now stop being a pussy haha.
I guess hanging around chicks all day isn't helping. :D
rxtasy 03-23-2007, 12:17 PM i don't think there's an airgas or this UT around here. i guess if and when i ever get to needing it filled, i'll have to find a place here and then ask them.
I think you still got ripped off you pussy. Around here its about 3.50/lb in the winter and 4.00/lb when the weather starts getting hot.
Great. I just found out NX does not make 75 shot jets for my kit. I'm going to have to run a 50 or 100 shot.
Son of a bitch!
50 is not enough. Now I have take the car to a tuner to make sure the A/F is good and I have to get a different set of spark plugs to get it ready for a bigger shot.
Tony, hook me up next time homo.
Its $1.10 a lb (delivery included) local from Amerigas (distributor), you need about $750 to get a decent filling station setup. I wouldn't think twice about lowballing him again.

You can always do it the old skool way that has worked great for so many. Put the empty bottle in the freezer overnight and the fill station bottle in the sun/heat all day then connect the two with the small bottle on a scale and fill it up until it is 10LBS heavier.
