When my buddy got his girl a rose a few weeks ago she "melted" and she at least had a boyfriend in the past. That was kind of the begining of the idea.

Well it took longer then I thought to get it done. Friday was a bust cause one of her friends kept throwing a hissy fit about something and so that fucked it up. We finally got her to agree to come out alone on Wednesday and I got a call that afternoon saying she cancelled, she wanted to help her sister cook a valentines dinner for her girlfriend. We ended up popping up at her house, by this point my friend and his girlfriend wouldn’t let me NOT do it anymore.

So while she was out of the room I got a red pillow and put it on that with the chain in the shape of a heart. She walked past it 3-4 times without seeing it so I grabbed all the remotes in the place and made them into an arrow pointing at the pillow. After she put her hand ON THE PILLOW to reach for the phone I said fuck it and called her into the room. It went something like this:

“I think somethings wrong with your remote”

“Really, what”

“Take a look at the remotes”

“Yeah”

“Take another look, anything weird about how they are sitting?”

Finally she calls me over to let me know that it was a huge shock, but she cant except it because we don’t know each other well enough, maybe one day etc etc. The whole time she never let go of the thing, playing with it, rubbing it, staring at it. She gave me a couple hugs (she’s really short, I didn’t notice before but I’m only 5'7 and my head was on top of hers) held back some tears and we went back in the house.

I found out from her friend that she damn near cried her eyes out in the other room because she felt so bad for turning me down. Apparently she got shut down some time in the past and she “knows how hard it is to let someone know you have feelings for them”
