HighTachPrez 01-11-2002, 09:41 PM Lets see... kills, kills. hmmmm
To tell you the truth i don't have many incredibly exciting races to talk about (i have the motego blue/green 94 RX-7). Either i don't know how to find them, or people are too afraid to race me <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>
I believe EVERYONE knows about the Miata race <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>. There must have been 100+ people watching that nite. Nobody wanted to race me, and i wanted to show the crowd what my car could do (ahem, shoot flames <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>). SO me and a friend in his stock miata pulled up to the line, pushing all the bodies out of the way. Everything from weird/odd looks to bursts of laughter come about on our way up to the line. Bryan Terry was the flagman, and he told me to give him a head start.. hmmmm <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
3.....2.....1!!, the Miata is off!!... what? Clint's still at the line singing Simon & Garfunkel? (heh, ok maybe not but i thought that was funny). I wait approx. 3 seconds then let her rip. Keep in mind i was just showing off, not racing for best time. I get sideways while redlining 1st gear, then throw it into second producing a 3-4' flame out of the back.. in return getting a little squirrely again, then finally getting some decent traction. By the top of 2nd gear i catch up to the miata and ram it into 3rd, throwing yet another bigass flame (this one being blue, hehe) right beside the poor fellow. I continue to pull HAAAAAAAARD (lol, understatment), and i end up about 3-4 car lengths in front of him by the stopping point.
The Miata guy was estatic, and enjoyed it just as well. Shortly after the lone cop came by (first time ever in that place), and since then the crowd has been relatively dead. I went to bed with a smile on my face that nite <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
Other kills:
modded '00 Camaro SS
Jonathan's Turbo Integra (however he beat me just as much, but that was before i knew how to launch well.. bogged everytime)
99? Pontiac Trans Am
too many mustangs to count
old body Z28 w/ slicks
barely pulled on a Viper, hehe, he turned off the hwy as soon as possible
Basically i've beaten anything that doesn't have slicks on it, the Z28 race was a rolling start. I don't see any future races with me in the drivers seat since i'm selling it <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> First $17,500 gets her
I want to win a race one day.
Stegall 01-12-2002, 03:01 PM I think the mx6 would pull on the rx7 off the line.
Stegall 01-12-2002, 03:05 PM What about Carlos TT supra ? If i remeber correctly it ate the 7 for dinner that night on 26.....
HighTachPrez 01-13-2002, 01:11 AM yea, running 6 psi <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>
Stegall 01-13-2002, 02:25 AM Hmm I really think you should run chris. One last race befor you sale it.
HighTachPrez 01-13-2002, 03:21 AM I'm not even sure i'll get to see the car before it gets sold, much less cockpit it to a race. The only thing my new car will be able to do is hang a corner on a dime, look good, and possibly beat half of the hondas out there <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
oneblowntwo 01-13-2002, 10:25 PM clint, i think you should at least take it to shadeyside whenever you get it back. even if you race once, itll look better to lay down some numbers, than to say "oh i could beat that mustang, bla bla" last time i heard you say, you ran a 8.5 at shadeyside. a stock ss runs that. i dont know if that was before or after your new engine though. well later. josh.

HighTachPrez 01-13-2002, 11:15 PM I'll just leave it up to the future buyer of the car to run the 1/8th or not.
$20 if you run 8.25 and I hope you do. <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

s***, if this becomes a trend i just might do it lol
Anybody have slicks available?
Impreza75 01-14-2002, 12:49 AM a stock SS runs 8.5<img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> then how come every time I go to the track and stock one runs a low to mid 9, people get really happy? Oh well

<img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> notice why i didn't even bother saying anything about it <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
As far as i know, WS6s are faster than SSs, and Roberts has run 8.6 at his best... not to mention minor mods
A bone stock SS runs 8.6 (at least my friend Tim's does) with a good driver. His WS6 was a little bit slower (like 8.7) I guess it weighed more. A bone stock GT runs 8.95 (Roberts). What is the bolt pattern on the RX? I think mine is 5 by 4.5 Do you drive a red 300ZX too?
HighTachPrez 01-15-2002, 07:57 PM 5 lug on the RX-7
Deceiving news though, the 7 is probably getting sold this coming weekend (19th).
I'm not a straight line guy, but i'm plenty satisfied with a 1.3litre that gets 8.5 in the 1/8th missing 3rd gear on street tires <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> I'll be content just to find out what the future owner of the car gets. My days of the RX-7 are through. I'll announce when its officially sold, and when i get my new wheels.
StockForNow 01-15-2002, 08:40 PM What kind of car do you want now?
