what do you guys think?

Sadly, I do not think he's fucked because as I have said before, there are people that will vote for a rock as long as it's a republican rock....I think (read: hope) that Obama will still be elected though. There are a lot of people that are seriously tired of the same old, same old and see Obama as their only way out of that.

I just want Obama to win so I can fuck up Vert's sig for a week (got any suggestions btw?). I do worry about Obama winning and taking a real protectionist stance. On the world stage, that could be bad. Time will tell I guess...

Nope, McCain is still very much in it.

I'd rather have more of the same than who the fuck knows with a side of can't produce a real birth certificate. But yes, he is still in it.

Obama: 240
McCain: 200

Like I said after the debate, both (especially McCain) are going to have to do a lot better then that to get the middle ground to slide in their favor. Obama just has to do less.

I don't think the current economic situation helps McCain at all. People are blaming Republicans for this mess and it looks bad on McCain considering that he was behind the bailout and it got voted down. If anything, this helps Obama.

I guess everyone needs to be educated that the Dems created this mess and shot down every attempt to fix it.

Even though supposedly it was the Repubs who killed the current version of the bill. That's what I heard via the news yesterday, at least.

One could make a point that either side killed the legislation.

-You could argue that republicans did because they did not vote for it.

BUT, consider also that they are the minority in the House of Representatives. With that having been said,

-You could argue that democrats killed it because they have a majority in the House. They clearly had enough votes for it to pass, but not everyone of them was on board. It came down to being about 60% Dems on board and 40% GOP on board iirc.

Ultimately though, if they don't want to put their minuscule fucking party differences aside, and help Vert8813B get a fucking loan for Law School, they can both eat my shit and die.

This is a solid statment here. Party politics are full of fail. The real issue here is what's good for the people and not what's good for the Democrats or the republicans......People have lost sight of that and just vote for a party rather than voting for the issues that the canidate stands for. Personally, I think we would all be MUCH better off if we did away with the bipartisan system and focused on the issues at hand instead of all this petty bickering between the parties. "ZOMG he's so liberal", "ZOMG he's so conservative"....Fuck that, when is the price of gas going to go down, when is health care going to be affordable, when will we start caring about our educational system?

Oh, I do agree there. I'm glad it failed, really. To be honest, I just can't see how their numbers game failing hard could really do any significant damage to those already just trying to get by.

Might be nice to have the rich folk try living by the real people's means.

I hope Obama wins just so the country realizes that "change and hope" really mean more of the same. I'll be voting for Ron Paul this year and hopefully in 2012 as the republican candidate.

The only reason I won't write Ron Paul's name on the ballot is that I don't think it's the right time for his foreign policy. I'm not a large McCain fan but I have confidence he will be able to find Bin Laden and skin his ass alive. Then I'll vote for RP.

I agree with you, his foreign policy is more suited for after this mess is over. He is surely not going to get enough write in's to win the election. I'm just hoping enough people vote for him that he is selected by the republican party next election, but he may be too old by that point.

He is inspiring a lot of people to follow him though. His run at the presidency certainly wasn't in vane.

To me he seems to the the only candidate that truly wants to fix this country.
