Got a few more walls built (just the studs). I have to paint more of the concrete with the waterproofing paint, finish framing the rest of the walls, then run electrical. My workshop space will kick ass when this is all done, though. :)

I'll put up pics later, so Mark can talk shit about my carpentry skills.

You'll have to excuse the mess. I can't completely clear out the basement, so I get to move shit from one area to another while I build.

This is going to be storage... It's about 8 x 8:

Here's some of the front wall of the kids' play room:

The desk and the rack with all my cordless tools will all move. The desk is going away, and the tools will move into my workshop once it's done. That wall will have book shelves and a built in desk.

Through the stairs and into the play room. I have a space of equal size on the other side of the stairs.

The only tools I've used for this are my compressor and framing gun, and that Rigid compound miter saw on the stand. I haven't had to break out any of my hardcore stuff... Second pic you can see my ShopSmith Mark V. That's a KILLER machine I bought from my GFs uncle. It's a $4k saw/drill press/lathe. I haven't even used it yet. The last pic, you might be able to make out the ShopSmith bandsaw. I haven't used that yet, either. I also have a ShopSmith belt sander. Guess what? I haven't used it yet. As much as I hate to say it, those tools were all, "Let me buy them because they are cool and I can get a deal", not because I really can use them yet.

And yes, that's an air hockey table. :) You guys should see Lily and Kyan go at it... They are too funny when they play air hockey.

In the fifth pic, you can see a blue tank and a box on the wall. The blue tank is the tank for the well, and it is original to the house from 1978. The box is a heater tied into the furnace. I'm going to pull that off the wall and relocate it (with help from my GFs Dad, who used to own a heating oil/furnace installation company) and I'm going to frame space around the well tank and the furnace so everything looks clean. Haven't decided if I will go straight across and do closet space on the sides, or if I will box them in. The way it was all installed by the builder of the house, it's a real clusterfuck.

off topic, but, what does your gf's parents think about you guys having kids out of wedlock? don't they wonder why you're not married?

not trying to be invasive, just curious

Well, since none of us are religious, it doesn't matter to anyone, but since you asked:

Lily is my GFs daughter she adopted 3 years ago. Lily is actually from Siberia. She calls me Daddy because I earned it.

Kyan is my son with my ex-wife.

Clear that up for you any?
