and I don't know why.
I know it's heavy as hell, somewhat ugly, won't beat a Z06 and it's overpriced, but I still want one. I want a white one with blue stripes just like in that commercial.
I would be willing to pay $60,000 for one, but I can't afford it right now.
Why do I want one? Has any one else wanted a car and didn't know why?
Say No To Pistons 09-19-2006, 10:14 PM IS wifey going to take it?
:D Not that car. She wont even be able to drive it.
Say No To Pistons 09-19-2006, 10:22 PM WHys that? manual?
The GT is manual. She races that thing in the 1/4 mile track in Fontana.
Say No To Pistons 09-19-2006, 10:26 PM Damn... well that means youre not going to let her drive it... dont come crying when she starts beating your ass for the car.
Not going to happen. If I bought that car tomorrow, she would be able to sit in it and nothing else.
Hell, she would have to do a lot of special favors just to be able to wash the damn thing.
I'll have the fastest car in the house again and there wont be anything she can do about it! :D---just daydreaming though.
Hail to the king!---again, just daydreaming.
rtryb2200 09-19-2006, 11:02 PM My supervisor bought a foose mustang earlier this year....looks good but overpriced, not even the supercharged version
foose? Is it a tuner like Saleen and Roush?
Say No To Pistons 09-19-2006, 11:09 PM Never heard of Chip Foose? hes probably one of the best muscle car builders/designer on earth.
Believe it or not, I'm not into mustangs or their domestic competition.
rtryb2200 09-19-2006, 11:33 PM I had no idea either...he does that overhaulin' show on tv. Has some good designs

Supper 09-20-2006, 09:04 AM wow... Foose designed the robocop cars :worship:
mazdaspeedrex 09-20-2006, 10:08 AM I'm not impressed.

I've always wanted a Lincoln LSV8 or V6 5Spd. The latter is extremely hard to find. I'm not sure exactly why I want one either. Other than the fact that I really need to replace my aging Cavalier and my Explorer is a gas hog.
Say No To Pistons 09-20-2006, 01:44 PM ^ Because it was one of the best car in its class?
my Explorer is a gas hog.
I remember when you bought that thing. *sheds tear*
SpartanTS 09-21-2006, 12:35 PM ^ Because it was one of the best car in its class?
Too bad they aren't making them any longer. Add in the plummeting resale value and I'm sure I can get a helluva deal on one for under 10k.
I spotted one last night. All black, black wheels, lowered about 2 inches with a beautiful exhaust note. That Jaguar V8 sounds so nice.
I plan on buying an '03 Cobra eventually, but Im also cheap as hell. For now my Accord and 5.0 ranger are keeping me happy.
Falcoms 09-23-2006, 11:58 AM I actually saw the first one that was delivered at the ford dealer out here the other day (GT500). Honestly, though its got the power, it just dosen't do it for me. I mean it's a live straight axle rear end, mediocre handling (if it's the same suspension as the GT mustang), and it just dosen't raise the heart rate like an original GT500 did.

The GT500 is the victim of obesity at 3800lbs. I'd rather have a Terminator Cobra. Sure it may not be as "new", but you'll get nearly the same speed, even with the significant power advantage that the GT500 has.

Being a roots charger it doesnt have that SOTP of a peaky turbo. The handling isnt amazing its a boat so driving a stock one is a pretty mediocre experience unless youve never driven a car with an 1:8 power to weight like a base C5 vette, 250whp Civic, etc.
Yark79 10-09-2006, 12:07 AM Will it beat a new Vette? I know its got like 100 more hp than the non z06, but the "base model" is only $45k. Seems like with the other $15k, you could make up for the 100hp.
Cosby 10-09-2006, 09:14 AM Buy one, strip and cage it. Voila, fast car.
I take out the spare :D
I seriously doubt it can take out a Z06, but I think it will be able to beat a regular corvette at the 1/4 mile. Don't quote me on the last part.
Id a KB on it and be done with it. Already built to handle double the stock boost.
sbrxguy 10-12-2006, 12:22 AM Good luck finding one for a decent price...my buddy sold all of theirs teh first week for $25,000 OVER sticker...told me a guy offered $20k over sticker and they said no...what a waste of cash, I'd buy 2 FD's one to fix up and one to keep stock, lol, and buy a bike.
$100T2 10-12-2006, 09:15 AM and I don't know why.

I'd pimp that shit. I bought an issue of Modified Mustang when I was debating a 5.0 swap, and they can get the GT to run 12s in the 1/4 with simple bolt-ons. A 500 h.p. GT500 will be a lot faster than you think. Sure, it can't beat a Z06, but it'd still be bad ass.
I'll take mine silver with black stripes, just like Eleanor in Gone in 60 Seconds.
As far as the car I really want, but will probably never get: A GMC Typhoon. It's a bit small for me, especially with my knee surgeries, but just the idea of a black Typhoon, lowered, on chrome Vette rims... Man, that would be awesome.
$100T2 10-12-2006, 09:16 AM Not going to happen. If I bought that car tomorrow, she would be able to sit in it and nothing else.
Yeah, until she says the four magic words: "No pussy for you."
Monback 10-13-2006, 03:19 AM I'd mob one for damn sure.
update: I'm getting to the point where I'm printing out images of that car (white w/ blue stipes) and I find myself day dreaming about it every day.----I think I have a problem. Seriously. I feel like a teenager. :(
I read an article on the car a week ago and I believe that there will be 8,000 cars made every year for a few years. I might be able to buy one in three years or so if they don't cost over $50,000.
Man I want one.
I just hope my mortgage goes down (see below) enough by then.
Hammerfer 11-01-2006, 01:35 AM ignore the passenger, he's a bit annoying, but shit, the Shelby looks like it drives pretty fricken nicely for a heavy car. i've had a boner for these since they first announced that they'd be making them.
