Speaking of which... anybody have any movie recommendations?

Fight Club, Pulp Fiction have been my favorite movies for a while... just to give a hint of the type of stuff I like.

I bought "Reservoir Dogs" tonight... never seen it, looks okay. Hitmen + Quentin Tarantino... has to be somewhat interesting.

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, Prison Break, Raising the Bar, Law and Order. New season of South Park starts in a week or two. Cops has the new season going on on Saturdays, MLB Playoffs (fuck Boston btw), NFL, Jeopardy. Also, you got to get this network called Sleuth. It's got all sorts of old 80s show reruns on it such as: Knightrider, Miami Vice, The A-Team, Matlock, et al.

Also, just pick up a book. I personally recommend the book A Civil Action by Jonathan Harr myself. I'm also a fan of Alexander Pushkin, but something tells me that you wouldn't enjoy his work.

likely because you suck at it

It's because unless you are a prodigy, which I doubt you or I are, you make a shit load of mistakes, but I'll gladly play you to prove that point. Speed chess is great if your name is Kasparov and you can actually analyze moves and ramifications in that short of a time period. But let me guess; you never make mistakes in speed chess right? A 1650 clearly shows that. :bigthumb:

You ever watch Four Rooms?

This movie features the collaborative directorial efforts of four new filmmakers, each of whom directs a segment of this comedy. It's New Year's Eve at the Mon Signor Hotel, a former grand old Hollywood hotel, now fallen upon hard times. Often using physical comedy and sight gags, this movie chronicles the slapstick misadventures of Ted, the Bellhop. He's on his first night on the job, when he's asked to help out a coven of witches in the Honeymoon Suite. Things only get worse when he delivers ice to the wrong room and ends up in a domestic argument at a really bad time. Next, he foolishly agrees to watch a gangster's kids for him while he's away. Finally, he finishes off the night refereeing a ghastly wager.

So you didn't think after seeing it "If this technology were real, would I do it"? I mean if you didn't think that at all...wtf! It's funny because the last 2 movies that really made me stop and 'think' had Jim Carrey in them; The aforementioned and "The Truman Show."

It's not a thought like 2001 Space Odyssey where I wonder "What is the meaning of life"? or something philosophical, but I think to myself what I would do should I have been in a similar predicament; and then I wonder to myself 'What is to say I AM NOT in a similar predicament'? Call me crazy, but those are the story lines that intrigue me.

Also, again IMO; Lock, Stock isn't nearly as good as Snatch.

So I just saw something odd... I'm watching Home Improvement, and on this episode there was 2 veryyyyy small parts where 2 guys from the audience of Tool Time got on stage.

I notice that one is Dave Chappelle, but he looks really young. Then I'm looking at the other guy and think "isn't that the guy that was in half baked with him?" I IMDB'd it, and oddly enough, 3 years before they did half baked together, when they were nobodies, they did small parts together.

I just found that pretty odd.

House. We just started watching this a couple months ago, and have every damn re-run (that we haven't seen) on the DVR. Though, I think we're getting a bit burned out on it. When you wants 1 or 2 episodes each day, they really start looking the same (though I'm sure that would happen for most shows if I watched them that often).

Ghost Hunters, Grant and Jason are great.

Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares on BBC America. The business student side of me loves this show, it's really fascinating to watch how a small business can succeed or fail, and how stubborn people can be to a few simple changes that could turn their business around.

My wife loves "How Clean is Your House?" on BBC America, but I hate her watching it, because she tries to compare our house to the ones on the show. I'll say something like, "holy crap, that kitchen is disgusting!" and she'll respond with "well, it's not that much worse than ours" which just pisses me off because I might have missed one day doing dishes, and she thinks it's the same as having rat shit laying around.

I don't like watching shows with lots of ongoing story line, because I can't keep up with them. I hate missing one episode, and being totally out of the loop.
