After handing her the check for $9,000 all she can say is “Oh, no wonder you were looking around”. It really made my day :bigthumb:

rodney87 09-23-2006, 07:08 PM I finally tracked down a good savings investment for my spare cash (4.75% compounded quarterly AND I can but money in anytime I want without penalty). I need a $100 savings with them before hand, and the minimum for the 4.75 is 25 bucks. I go to open the account yesterday and after doing the $100 savings she ask’s me for my 25 bucks. It dawns on me that I’m 21, and they think all I can afford is 25 bucks :) After handing her the check for $9,000 all she can say is “Oh, no wonder you were looking around”. It really made my day :bigthumb: meddle 09-23-2006, 08:14 PM hey, good for you. 4.75 ain't bad for a savings. But why choose to keep real money in a savings? rodney87 09-23-2006, 08:58 PM 4.75 is the best interest rate I can find anywhere around here. And its not so much a savings account, they call it a "christmas savings accont". Basically its a money CD with a 1 year term and a locked in rate, only I can put more money into it any time I want. I think I did pretty good for myself considering last week I didn't have any idea about compounding interest, CD's, Bonds and pretty much anything involving money. If I come across something better I can always put my money in that next year, but at least it'll be 10,732.28 by then. P.S. Any idea's for next year would be nice :) Animal 09-23-2006, 09:54 PM heh, I enjoy playing off the dumb redneck stereotype. For example, at work... They had me put up a whiteboard on the wall. Calculated everything out so it'd fit and be square since the company doesn't have a level. Drew all over the wall and drilled my holes, put up this whiteboard. Later that day he was going over some stuff with me and I mentioned I knew Labview. He was totally amazed at what computer knowledge I had, and I really didn't get into much detail with him. SURPRISE, asshole! This cowboy knows a little something about computers! R281 09-24-2006, 10:13 AM Good find Rodney. |
