I dunno how many video game guys there are here, so I thought I'd stir the waters a bit and see what comes up. :D

I think its a trick to get around the Wipeout hack..once you update the firmware, I don't think you can go back

Yeah, I already painfully know that you can't go back once you update the firmware. But, the wipeout hack still works on v1.51. I don't think there's any way they can really block that, without compromising the web browser's functionality.

I thought the new update didn't allow it

Well, I had a great big long reply all ready to go on my PSP, but my wireless connection died.

Basically, Wipeout Pure is a racing game with jet powered hovercrafts instead of cars. The game also features downloadable content, through a web browser interface. Some guys found a way to trick the browser into going to a site different than the one with the content for the game. There are now two portals for PSPs that allow you to go to any site you want. Here (http://omlette.net/psp/roto/) is a link with more information on how to do it.

I'd buy a PSP if it weren't dipping into my Xbox 360 Fund and my DIY Projector project. $250 still seems a bit steep for it.

Is that the DIY projector that uses an old school projector and a LCD screen? Any luck with it? I've always wanted to try it.

Nah that's the bootleg way. I'm stripping an old LCD panel, building an enclosure, complete with cold mirrors, fresnel lenses, HID light ballast as a light source and a lens.

I'll post pics of it when it's complete. I should be done in about a month :)
