2ndGen.Rocket 10-02-2008, 10:07 PM Probably the most badass vocal harmony ever. Staley's voice was incredible, extremely powerful. Shame he died the way he did. Either way, Alice in Chains had one of the most haunting, original sounds of any hard rock/metal band ever. It's easy to forget that since you still hear them so often on pretty much every rock station that exists. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3wF0mZEuBY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMOU7qZVwJs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_qRTMKDqXA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTIAaJcc0I0&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ksD0eN4k20&feature=related 1revnrex 10-02-2008, 11:32 PM My favorite band ever. Steel 10-03-2008, 12:03 AM Don't jump my ass for this, but weren't they technically 'grunge'? 1revnrex 10-03-2008, 12:19 AM Don't jump my ass for this, but weren't they technically 'grunge'? Yah and no, I think they got lumped in with the crowd at the time. Another GREAT band to listen to with Staley's amazing voice is the group Mad Season. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abS2WuLOKEQ 1revnrex 10-03-2008, 12:30 AM Moar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPAmydQsozU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc2Gnh8yI5w&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aR9FDIaP4fE&feature=related 2ndGen.Rocket 10-03-2008, 08:49 AM Mad Season is also pretty awesome. They got lumped in with the whole grunge era, but they were most certainly metal. They actually started out as a glam metal band back in the day. Facelift was a legit metal album. Steel 10-03-2008, 10:15 AM Really? So Pantera AND AIC started as glam metal. Thats freakin weird. 2ndGen.Rocket 10-04-2008, 10:58 AM Yep. They more or less appeared on the scene around the same time, and the whole glam metal era was winding down right around then. They were some of the first (well, aside from Metallica) to ditch that whole scene and start forging out something new. 2ndGen.Rocket 10-04-2008, 11:00 AM Another awesome song I almost forgot about. Too bad the movie it was from sucked: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_N6052Xd7g |
