Edit: Also note, that my stress has made me not break stuff up into paragraphs and i typed this all very fast while banging the shit out of the keyboard.

Vert8813B 01-31-2008, 11:25 AM So I've been allowing myself to get stressed a lot lately. Between work, matters with my lawyer pretaining to cases of identity theft, time constraints, and lack of sleep (to name a few that come off the top of my head), I feel as though I am severely on the verge of getting completely burned out. I haven't been on a formal vacation in a very long time. My weekends go by way too fast. I don't feel I make enough money for my work. I'm involved in a HUGE server refresh at work. I understand we all go through stress, and I used to generally think I was pretty good at combatting it, but I'm beginning to wonder. I was just wondering if people had any ideas on what I should try/do. I normally go to the gym 4 days a week (which helps a bit with the stress), but I haven't been since Tuesday. Was going to go last night, but I had to run to the mall. I ran to the mall at 5 o'clock knowing that I didn't have my wallet since 3 o'clock (when I discovered I left it home), but something in my brain didn't click that I didn't have money until I got all the way to the mall (maybe an effect of the stress). Well needless to say I didn't go home and go back. Figured I would go during lunch today, but then realized I need a haircut and need to check out some more TVs and Surround Sounds (going to check out that Sony one 2nd Gen). Doing all that PLUS eating my actual lunch wouldn't have been fair to my coworkers while they do the work so I decided I would do it after work tonight. So with that said, I can't go to the gym tonight. I am also just starting to catch a LITTLE BIT (at the current time) of the lazy bug (wanting to not go to the gym). I hope to correct that and get back on track. Someone tell me everything is going to be alright. I'm going fucking insane here. Edit: Also note, that my stress has made me not break stuff up into paragraphs and i typed this all very fast while banging the shit out of the keyboard. czarofzar 01-31-2008, 11:40 AM Do something thatll pump that adrenalin up quickly to meet your level of stress, like bungy jumping, sky diving, or volunteer to sample Queens cooking. 2ndGen.Rocket 01-31-2008, 11:46 AM Working out usually does it for me. I've been going to the gym twice a day for about the past two months. I've found that if I go in at 6:30 and get a good hour of cardio in, I am wide awake all day, refreshed, and able to deal with things better. In the evening I will go lift for an hour to blow off some steam, come home and have a beer, and go to bed. During the day I'm not very stressed at all. If I break out of that routine however, I can feel myself starting to revert. Just work out frequently, make sure you are eating well (lots of fruit and vegetables), and get a good amount of sleep each night. There isn't really a magic formula to dealing with stress, but that is a good starting point. Vert8813B 01-31-2008, 11:57 AM I used to get up at 5:30 and go to the gym when I was doing classes at night, but I'm not much of a morning person. I know testosterone levels peak in the morning though, but eh. I'm done with school now so I go after work. Eatmyclutch 01-31-2008, 10:30 PM Damn, identity theft sux. And when you do whatever physically activity, it'll help you sleep a little easier (from experience). 2ndgenrocket: I don't get how you can workout then goto work directly, doesn't that drain you? I tell you, you're some American Psycho level. |
