EdwardNorth 09-13-2005, 08:53 AM What the bloody hell is it with assholes and their work trucks nowadays? It seems like every freaking time I drive somewhere, some asshole piece of inbred trash is driving their pickup down the road, flinging freaking ROCKS and DIRT behind them the whole way! Today I was on Telegraph (4 lane road each way where I was) and some dipshit in an F-150 with a wheelbarrow in the back was like half a mile ahead of me in my lane, nobody between us, and I noticed little rocks starting to hit my car. There was a Semi a few car lengths ahead and over two lanes, so I thought that HE was the one doing it, thus I accelerated to get past him and the rocks started getting worse! Turns out it was the dick ahead of me, so I slowed waaaayyy down to get as much distance as possible and then went over from the far right lane to the far left lane to get past him and protect the car.
Hey assholes, is it really that freaking hard to CHECK YOUR GOD DAMN BED AND CLEAN IT ONCE IN A WHILE?!?!?! I think all these bastards should be 100% LIABLE for ANY and ALL damages/dings/chips that they cause due to their stupidity and ignorance. You should be able to call them in and they should get fined out the ASS and get points on their license for creating a fucking road hazard and causing damage to property.
Next time I see some redneck dick dropping rocks and shit all over the road and causing damage to other people's cars, I'm going to follow them, wait until they park and leave, and then go put a big foot-sized DENT in the side of their truck.
Assholes.

Yes I posted this on the 7 club too. We'll see if it lasts there.
Cosby 09-13-2005, 09:08 AM That makes me FURIOUS when that happens. On several occasions I've passed them in the break down lane and flipped them off. Another thing that pisses me off is this concrete plant where I live. It is right next to a major interstate and every time you drive by your car gets sand blasted. You can't even drive by with your windows down or you'll get sand in your eyes.
Supper 09-13-2005, 09:10 AM sometimes it isn't the bed that causes it.
Like with the work trucks I drive, we work on dirt roads 75% of the time and your tires pick up rocks, especially the duallies. We take off and we spray rocks. Last month we destroyed three windshields going back and forth to a project becuase of traffic going the other direction on a narrow gravel road, not much you can do about it other then realize your going to wind up replacing glass quite often.

Well what about the damage to other parts of the car? Like dings on the hood, front fascia, etc? The glass is only one of the things that gets hit. Are you liable for all of it?

all of the are company pickups, and we are never held responsible for it. Its pretty much common knowledge that if you are driving that fast on these roads you are going to take damage to the pickups.
Most of our pickups have bug deflectors on the hoods that also work very good for rock deflectors, the ones that don't are covered with rock chips and scratches. We also have rocker panel pieces on there for the same thing on several of the pickups.
Just one more reason we never drive cars up there, they are perfect height for the big rocks to blow windshields out. As it is, there are still one or two cases a year of a big rock being thrown through a radiator.
Shit, around here dumptrucks aren't required to cover their loads. Try getting behind one carrying crush and run gravel or 5 & 7's.
EdwardNorth 09-13-2005, 11:43 AM I guess I didn't follow what you meant Sup. Dirt roads are one thing, which is why I never drive the 7 or Talon on them. But trucks constantly flinging crap everywhere on 4-lane-per-side highways or freeways where there are dozens of cars getting hit is inexcusable.

I was talking dirt/gravel roads on the way to the jobsite :bigthumb:
but we also do it a lot on the two lane highways, we don't have any 4laners (4 per side anyway) in this state. All the interstates are at max three on one side, two on the other.
couple years ago after doing a job at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort we launched a huge rock out of the duals on the one ton truck and laughed our asses off as some rich bitch in a brand new escelade went swerving all over the place to avoid it.

lol, you must be talking about that concrete plant off old I-85.
rx-7_Z06 09-13-2005, 05:57 PM friend of mine lost his leg from the knee down because some asshats spilled sand all over a PUBLIC road. They were doing golf course maintenance. He was riding a motorcycle BTW.

Nobody's heard of mudflaps?

A had a three foot long piece of steel get picked up by my front driver's side tire and ram itself through the floor of my car. I'm glad I didn't loose my leg.

mudflaps don't do shit when they are traveling towards you. and the kind of rocks we normally kick out aren't stopped by any mudflap short of super heavy weight built for semi's.

I bet its not sand but cement powder. If you want it stoped call the EPA. :)

What's a mudflap going to do when rocks fall out of the back of the truck?
I once collected a nice piece of rebar in the lower valence and AC condensor of my then brand new 2000 Golf TDi. It was the morning commute through the South bound Terwilliger curves in the fast lane with nowhere to go but forward. I saw the rebar bouncing in the road and the Dodge 4x4 in front of me cleared it, but I didn't. That was a nice $600 repair.
2ndGen.Rocket 09-14-2005, 06:28 AM I get tired of that shit too. Tom is right, dump trucks aren't required to cover loads so they just spray shit everywhere.
The other day I was behind some fucker who had a bunch of trash in his truck, and all of a sudden a refrigerator-sized piece of cardboard flew out the back, dangled in the breeze, and then smashed down on my front end. I had nowhere to go since there were people behind me and people coming in the opposite direction. I had to pull over to get the fucking thing off, and of the course the asshole who's truck it came from didn't bat an eye.
I see this shit all the time with how much I drive. One time I saw an industrial sized fan fall out the back of a truck, on I-40 no less. I managed to dodge it, but 2 cars behind me didn't. They got completely fucked up, and once again the asshole driving the truck just kept on going. Now those are the people that deserve a good ass beating and a huge fine.

try getting behind one thats carrying chicken/turkey shit, there are alot of chicken houses in the north central arkansas area (tysons is located here) so they are always hauling shit around.
2ndGen.Rocket 09-14-2005, 06:39 AM I must say that chicken shit is the worst fucking smell in the world. There are a few farms around here that use that as fertilizer, and it is enough to choke you when you walk out the door.
razorback 09-14-2005, 07:03 AM i got one better, one of our neighbors, buys dumptruck loads of turkey shit. and he mixes it with the feed he feeds his cattle as a filler. luckily i have no houses around my parents house, so i dont have to smell it.
^That boggles my mind. And people ask me why I hunt.

Even better when you get next to a truck full of chickens on the way to the Mcnugget plant. Those chickens know what is coming and dump their load all the way to the plant. The best though is when one of the cages pops open and a chicken gets a 65mph leap for life right into the fast lane.
vrooooom splat
DSMPOWERED 09-14-2005, 09:18 AM Some redneck junk collector lost a fridge on I-90 a few cars in front of me when I was in HS. Luckily it hit some crappy mid-80's camaro who was tailgating the truck, and I avoided the whole thing.
The unequivocal winnah redneck hauler award has to go to the idiot who was hauling moonshine down US 81 in the back of a pickup truck some years ago.
The reason was undetermined, either a spark or a cigarette, but the whole frekin' trucking exploded into a fireball that engulfed both lanes and the median areas
No one else was hurt, but that driver was deader than shit. Imagine if you were tailgating THAT son of a bitch!
rx-7_Z06 09-14-2005, 05:38 PM that would certainly get my undivided attention!
