Ramkatral 08-23-2002, 07:19 AM What would be faster/better to have? An '89 Prelude or a 1st Generation RX-7? I like the older body styles, but I'm wanting the faster of the two. I personally think it's the RX-7. What do you guys think? Texas89LX 08-23-2002, 07:28 AM well the RX-7 is RWD, which would make it more fun for autocrossing and such... and that would make it my pick theyre both slow. my friends 89 ran a 17.7, and im sure based on riding in the first gen that its hardly if any faster 08-23-2002, 08:43 AM the rx7 has an endless supply of extra parts as long as its not an engine Uglymexican19 08-23-2002, 09:23 AM yeah go for the 7 91lx 08-23-2002, 11:23 AM The RX-7 leaves room for some interesting motor swaps: Supra engines, SBC, SBF, 13B TT, etc. RWD is nice too Texas89LX 08-23-2002, 12:08 PM it takes some fabrication but you can swap a B-series into a older prelude like that (i helped my friend with a B16 swap into his 86) 91lx 08-23-2002, 12:42 PM There are lots of options either way. Hey Ken did u see the new MMFF with the 03 Cobra 12.01@118 with a Pro 5.0 and blower pulley. I had a question for you what kinda #s do you think Systemax II and a A-trim would push on a 89 LX? If so I would wait to saveup for some more money. No offense intended. ghswheela 08-23-2002, 04:19 PM i was looking at a prelude of that year a while back, i was about to get it, but a friend of mine told me that they are really pitiful engines, and that if you drive them to hard, you are very likely to throw a rod Ramkatral 08-24-2002, 11:55 AM That's why you put a new engine in it. <img src="http://www.spartanburgracing.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> rxtasy 08-24-2002, 08:39 PM </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">, but a friend of mine told me that they are really pitiful engines, and that if you drive them to hard, you are very likely to throw a rod </td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'> Rod, what's a rod....hehe, j/k.....I kinda like the rotary myself, and the 1st gens r lighter then the later models, and when done right, they're pretty damn quick fur only 70cid(12a) or 80cid(13b). 08-24-2002, 11:38 PM hey michael...I checked out the place on valley falls road and they have an 808 wagon with everything in it.
