ghswheela

also, would it run good?

Anything will fit anywhere. The question is... Do you have the money? The S2K is a 40k car I wonder how much the engine is and the fabrication.

Not to mentio the fabrications and alterations you'd have to do to the frame to get it to work, and you snap your stock axles all the time. And the main thing, the S2000 is RWD, CRX is FWD. Hell of alot of modifications to get the drivetrain to work right. Its a good 15K to get it all to work, after buying th emotor.

Might want to include something like a Tech II engine management (thats what I'm getting with the new hybrid motor, I might build) System, and aftermarket Axles.

ok been thinkin of this, s2000 has f20 right accord has f22 or jdm type r has f20? anyway the accord is fwd so both engines being f series then a s2000 motor would bold to an accord tranny so that solves the rwd-fwd prob then theres the aspect of getting the mounts to drop the fmotor and tranny in and the axles linkage etc probably a little more that an H motor in crx swap kit (im guessing) with the exception of the price of the s2000 engine ecu and an accord tranny

Ben Howard

Nah mounts are different and its a different engine.

f20a is the old accord F motors
f20b is the jdm accord sir 2.0 monster
f20c is the s2000

Engine codes and all f but all mount totally different and have different tranny posistions. Would be a nice swap but not possible to the nomal hybrider...

Also seeing as how the F20C rotates clockwise while all other Honda motors (up to the 7th Gen. Civic and the K series) have rotated counter-clockwise.

Or is it the other way around? I dunno but there is a difference

No...i believe its Horizontal. Its all different since it mounts sideways. Very unrealistic swap in anything besides a old 4cyl rwd car...

Impreza75
04-15-2002, 01:20 PM
Totally unrealistic, not to mention its hard as hell to tune an S2000 motor. And expensive. What you should get is either a B16a or B18c1. Both motors VTEC, easy to tune, and you have the option of going S/C or Turbo with them with minimal fuss as far as Honda motors go. Just read up on it and find out about the tuning. B18c1 is my fav (and no not just cause of Ben) but its a simple swap, good amount of power, and a hell of alot of tunability. Could use a little more low end torque, but hey, thats Honda for ya. I could have used a little more top end. Right ben?

.........cough cough.......H22.....cough cough........

H22 is nice but i have had a few bouts with h22 swaps...nice but doesnt really take the pie. R swap will walk all over it most any day!

Impreza75
04-16-2002, 12:27 AM
Yea the H22 swap is good for a street racer or a drag racer. But the car handles like complete crap. Understeer is rediculous on them. The Type R swap will walk it, but the tunability is different. Still rather have the GSR though.

I hear the h22 will make a small car handle like crap all the time. How much more does the .4 litres weigh? I cant imagine it being that bad.
Does anyone know the weights of the engines?

Ben Howard
04-18-2002, 10:36 AM
About 100lbs more. Thats nice weight and the custom axels are a complete bitch. Its a strong swap but youll have to goto the depths for parts to get it like you can a hybrid B series motor. Examples of what im talking about are...

Top Notch GSR:
Skunk2 Intake mani
ITR TB
ITR internals
2ply headgasket

Poor Mans ITR:
B18c bottom
B16 head
ITR internals
2ply headgasket
Itr intake mani
ITR TB

LS/Vtec:
ls bottom
Vtec head
2ply headgasket is one of the lowest to go to stay safe clearance wise

B20/Vtec:
crv bottom end
Vtec head (port holes port matched to 84mm for the domes on the pistons)
fully build internally to handle 8500rpm and more
can make over 230whp all motor with simple setups and no overbore

There are more but i didnt have time to name them

well i have to be bias towards H22 im a prelude owner lol yeah i know a H22 will make a HB handle worst but drag racing is all i care about anyways ..........but yeah type R motors are awesome..if u can get u hands on one

Sean_no_car

Get a phatty rear sway bar to take care of the understeer.

It really isn't that bad, in fact Benjamin Leung of A&J Racing road races his 98 H22A powered hatch constantly. It's never seen the 1320

I believe that the B-series swaps are much better for the same reasons ben stated.

tanx for setin me straight on the F series deal Ben, so the F has to be the oddball of the bunch, oh well like it was said earlier after u get that s2000 in there tuning is limited and costly as are the parts. I agree that B series is the way to go. The possibilities are endless with that setup. i mean crv-tec twincharged (like the meguiars show car) in CRX hf. would be hella sweet but also costly.
