A Texas high school teacher and former Miss Texas contestant is accused of having sex with a student.

Amy McElhenney, 25, is charged with having an improper relationship with a student in Carrollton, near Dallas.

The 18-year-old student tells investigators he and the first year Spanish teacher engaged in sex on numerous occasions in her apartment.

McElhenney has resigned and denies having a physical relationship with the boy, but has told police the relationship was inappropriate.

The charge against McElhenney is a second-degree felony.

McElhenney, who was arrested on the last day of school (May 25), posted a five-thousand dollar bond and was released.

In addition to teaching Spanish, she was a cross country coach at the school.
