sharo227 07-09-2005, 09:45 AM ok so yesterday Bobby and i went out on a mission to test drive at like all the car places in augusta lol. heres what we found:
>>dodge srt-4: loved it! i am not very good at driving a manual yet but btwn Bobby and the sales lady i think i made great progress. got into 3rd gear going around regency mall. Then Bobby took it for a spin and to show me how u drive a manual when u have experience. All went well when he drove it untill the HUGE pothole. we hit it so hard that the wipers started going and i noticed a small chip from the tire but she didnt say ne thing lol.
>> Used Honda/ new mazda: Mazda 6 5 door. this was a nice looking car, nice body, nice styling, ect. we test drove an man-u-matic 4 banger. very quiet and smooth. they didnt have the turbo one so i wasnt to intrested... also didnt quite realize how big it was. we were supposed to drive an rx8 (Bobby, not me lol) but the ladies manager was a real bish and said u had to be 25 even tho the other dealership let him.
>> Mitsubishi: we wanted to look at the new eclipse and evo. we went inside to get a sales rep and some lady, a real bish imo, showed me the reg. lancers and wasnt very noligable(sp) on ne thing. then she said id have to bring my dad with me JUS TO LOOK at the evo or eclipse! so she gave me some info (had a nice poster inside) and i told her id call her but of course i wont be. the thing that bothered me is that i used to test drive cars there all the time bc some of the sales people knew me from 95 rock, same with acura. they wouldnt even ask for my id, jus give me the keys and we'd go for a drive. so therefore i dont recomend going to mitsu.
>>Stokes Hodges Auto mall: had NOTHING but some riced out civic and some pt cruisers... the lady was stupid as hell... tried to say the turbo pt was 24 liters i was like NO 2.4 ! then she tried to sell me a kia spec 5 but the one they had was "tricked out" with 2 15''s and spinners and lip kit and all that shiat. it was crazy lol... then i was trying to leave, been trying for a while, and so i was like no i dont see ne thing i like then some guy told us about a mazda proto speed that is gonna be there monday and they will call me so i can come test drive it
>>Lexus: i didnt think i would like ne thing other then the is 300 and i knew they wouldnt let me drive ne thing but then we went inside to get someone so i could really look at the is 300, then i was joking around and said can i drive it? he was like yeah sure jus need ur license and then we can go ahead n go! so i drove a brand new is 300... that thing was nice!!!!
so i got some books on it and we got our free drinks, like powerade n shit for free! but it was lexus lol
>> Chevy cobalt: i hated it!!!! they only had the base model, no power ne thing and bad handeling, no pick-up, no nothing.. yuk! he said it would be till mid august before they had the ss again and it would be the '06 model then. the lady from dodge said someone who jus bought an srt-4 traded his new ss for it bc he didnt like it and they raced the srt-4 against the ss and srt-4 won!
>>Nissan sentra spec v se-r: very nice!!! i didnt drive this one, it was a 6 speed so i had Bobby drive it. i thought it was weird that u have to pull the shifter up when in reverse but oh well... it was very comfy and Bobby liked how it drove. his pick was btwn it n the srt-4. i could def feel it putting me in the seat and he didnt even really get on it.
i think those are all the cars we looked at but on monday i think ima go by gerbil town, i mean honda over by vw and see what they have. and im gonna drive that mazda. so in conclusion out of all the cars i drove so far the srt-4 has been my top pick but if i get one ill be sure to get a dif. one then the one we drove lol... :D
i test drove a srt4 last week. i was a little disappointed with it being so slow. i shifted to 2nd and the knob came off in my hand bc its not even threaded on but i shifted pretty hard and it never grinded. can run 18-19psi on the stock turbo so im sure it would be faster if you chipped it.
ChevyMuscle 07-09-2005, 11:37 AM the spec v is a nice car
SpartanTS 07-09-2005, 05:39 PM Spec V is Torque Steer City.

Haha, that happens on bimmers alot, like austin has a 3 series and his dad has a convertable one, and whenever he shifts hard in the convertable the shift knob just randomally comes off and usually ends up in the backseat, haha.
older mustang autos did that. they figured out how to use set screws in 1994 :-)
ChevyMuscle 07-10-2005, 11:42 PM :dunno: why wouldnt u just thread it???
for the same reason srt-4s come with power windows up front and manual windows in the back i guess.
SpartanTS 07-11-2005, 08:06 AM for the same reason srt-4s come with power windows up front and manual windows in the back i guess.
Yeah i've noticed that too. I guess it's to save money. I kno I never let down my back windows anyway.

wtf :dunno: ???? thats a chrysler for ya... the back windows are the ones u cant reach... reason #854 why not to buy a chrysler
Etnies_Chic 07-11-2005, 11:43 AM haha, damn, that would suck, i like having the rear windows down.. and the sunroof open.. hehe
Yeah i've noticed that too. I guess it's to save money. I kno I never let down my back windows anyway.
the wind noise is terrible with just the fronts down above 35mph.
SpartanTS 07-11-2005, 08:52 PM Thank goodness for A/C. Don't kno what i'd do without it.
Stang_15us 07-12-2005, 12:15 AM never had AC in my life in a car ive owned...it blows in the prelude but not cold...so everyday, both windows down. sunroof open...
on really hot days, my face/chest is fine, but my back/ass is drenched with sweat when i get out of car, and sometimes it leaves wet spots...ewww...but hell, im so used to it, i dont want to spend $ to get it fixed....if it was free to fix, id do it..but hell, ive drove for 4 yrs without it, screw it...

Cosby 07-12-2005, 02:34 AM What is wrong with your ac? probably not more than lke $30 to fix it...
SpartanTS 07-12-2005, 08:19 AM If it just needs to be charged, it's pretty cheap. If you need a compressor, it's about $300, but it doesn't take that long to do.
I had to get mine re-charged recently. Cost me $50. Well worth it. I can't stand being without A/C.
Etnies_Chic 07-12-2005, 11:40 AM The bimmer has a/c but the 300 doesn't because it has to be retrofitted for the new freon or w/e the hell they have do

You can usually find a shade tree mechanic that may have R-12 refrigerant. It's much colder than R-134. My Prelude had R-12, and it was really really cold. My Chevy is cold, but not nearly as cold as the R-12 from my Prelude.
