I have some new black and polished wheels. I'll post pics of them when I mount them on my wife's car (also white). I give it a few weeks before I can buy some tires.
Check your PMs in a few minutes.

If you're calling an FB ugly, I sincerely hope you don't drive a certain car that looks like a japanese-translated third-gen base-model firebird.
Onlyonthurs! 08-28-2005, 12:11 AM lol nice speed monkey
sir rupert hobo 08-28-2005, 12:12 AM make sure you tell the tire guys(or do it yourself) to clean the part of the wheel where the bead of the tire sits. if you don't it WILL leak air.
very clean car. i like the muffler. can put my cock in one of its holes?

I just started on my stock GS wheels. Pulled the clearcoat with airplane stripper an started wetsanding with MPL and 400 wet dry.
Did you have flaws(Pits or "Worms" under the clear) in the aluminum before you started polishing? Mine are horrible, Mazda did a shit job on these wheels.

shit yeah there were alot of flaws....but wet sand them to no end (i used 800 grit) abd then polish, polish, polish!!!
RoadRaceJosh 09-04-2005, 01:42 AM At least on the rim you can use a buffing wheel. I hate trying to polish things with letters or fins where you want to keep the detail. I have some 16x7 Supra wheels that will carry my autocross tires for my FC. They are nearly flat faced so they are much easier to polish, but you have to polish nearly the whole damn thing.

That's a lot of polishing.
aznpoopy 09-04-2005, 11:53 AM i bet onlyonthurs is really buff after all that polishing
wonner 09-04-2005, 12:00 PM buff....polishing.....good one, poopy:)
Onlyonthurs! 09-04-2005, 12:10 PM :boink:
speed_monkey 09-04-2005, 12:12 PM Now hurry up and get the tires on. :)
Yeah hurry up! I would send you 2 of my old tires, but they're 245 45 R17.
Onlyonthurs! 09-04-2005, 12:27 PM hey im putting tires on them in a week and a half...
have you figured out what size you're going with?
Onlyonthurs! 09-04-2005, 12:33 PM im thinking 205/60/14 http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/searchTiresBySize.do?rcz=78221&rc=TXSINT&cs=205&ar=60&rd=14
...........any other suggestions?

Yeah, Falken Azenis RT-615. Actually they only come in 195/60R14, but the grip is sure there! http://www.vulcantire.com/azenis_rt615_t.htm
I have a few buddies tht have falkens an they complain about the tire wear. I'm njot sure what model falkens they are, but they go in about 10,000 miles.
But with a rating of 420, i guess those will last a long time.
RoadRaceJosh 09-04-2005, 12:50 PM Actually the RT-615 has a treadwear rating of 200. They will go quickly. They are good for a play car, not so good for a daily driver unless you care to replace tires frequently. The 615 is actually meant for Street Touring autocross. I'll be needing to replace my Talon's shoes here pretty soon. Since it's a stock driver and I have snow tires for it I'll likely use Kumho Ecsta SPTs. I road raced on the original Kumho Victoracers and liked them and I'm prefectly willing to try their street tires.
for some reason my bfgoodrich comp ta's were rated 230 or so and they lasted well over 20,000 miles.
RoadRaceJosh 09-04-2005, 04:23 PM Treadwear ratings are not created equal and neither are cars or drivers. As they say YMMV.
Since polishing was brought up I thought I'd go finish up one of my Supra wheels so I could show it off. I paid $50 for all 4 wheels and they are similar enough to TII wheels that I don't mind that they aren't real Mazda wheels.

TII wheel for comparison.
