How does that tree even survive? Trees around here die after a while when they wrap themselves around a fence.

maybe the fence has concrete and metal pilings, blocking their roots? I dunno.

There are a couple trees around here close to the railroad tracks that have full lengths of rail suspended in them several feet up in the air. Took them since the 1800's to grow that way, but a chunk of rail weighs a bit more then a bike.
