2ndGen.Rocket 09-08-2005, 10:08 PM 2006 CBR 1000RR was unveiled.....I want one reeeeal fuckin' bad now. http://www.motorcycledaily.com/07september05_2006honda_cbr1000rr.htm King 09-08-2005, 10:13 PM is that big drag strip "piedmont" near you? Say No To Pistons 09-08-2005, 10:13 PM i dont know anything about bikes but it looks cool. how fast can it go? 2ndGen.Rocket 09-08-2005, 10:13 PM First #'s report 381 pounds dry weight and 178hp. Further derived off the RC211V chassis King 09-08-2005, 10:14 PM faster than you'll ever want to. 2ndGen.Rocket 09-08-2005, 10:15 PM is that big drag strip "piedmont" near you? It's about an hour and a half east I think, near Burlington 2ndGen.Rocket 09-08-2005, 10:17 PM i dont know anything about bikes but it looks cool. how fast can it go? Depends on what you mean by fast. My F4i will run 11's all day long and absolutely smoke in the twisties. This bike will completely blow it away. $100T2 09-08-2005, 10:18 PM That's way too much bike for me. I know my limits, and that's about 10 miles past 'em. I'll take a nice "little" 600, thanks. Say No To Pistons 09-08-2005, 10:30 PM ill take a pocket bike. i dont want to be thrown at 180mph into mid air. 2ndGen.Rocket 09-08-2005, 10:32 PM That's way too much bike for me. I know my limits, and that's about 10 miles past 'em. I'll take a nice "little" 600, thanks. Ahhh, but it's fun! I'm trading in my F4i next year and either getting this bike or an RC51. Trust me, if you know how to ride and respect the power of those things, they aren't bad. Ya just can't assume that you yank the throttle wide open and go really really fast. Otherwise you end up on your back with a bike on top of you. RoadRaceJosh 09-09-2005, 12:56 AM First #'s report 381 pounds dry weight and 178hp. Further derived off the RC211V chassis Woa! With 30 lbs of fuel and me on board that's only 3.4lbs/hp. We need a smiley that shivers for this one. Supper 09-09-2005, 01:38 AM  I'd still simply opt for a CBR 600 if I went a honda superbike route. Personally, I would rather save up the money and dump it on a Ducati superbike. As it stands now though, I'm looking for any cheap street bike, be it a cruiser or a crotch rocket (I'm really thinking a used BMW 1150 or 1200 GS ;) ) Palumbo 09-09-2005, 02:06 AM wow that looks sexy. any pictures of the 600rr? i was gona get a honda, but i really like the raven 05 r6, and i think im sticking to that. i should get the 06 when the season ends http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/Palumb0/r6.jpg 2ndGen.Rocket 09-09-2005, 08:25 AM There are pics of the 600 RR on Honda's website. They actually brought back the Orange and Black color scheme, it's pretty sick. And Supper, why not just get a cheap Ninja ZX6R? They can be had for $2k, are pretty damn fast, and handle fairly well. Certainly good enough to satisfy the fun per dollar factor. Supper 09-09-2005, 09:30 AM And Supper, why not just get a cheap Ninja ZX6R? They can be had for $2k, are pretty damn fast, and handle fairly well. Certainly good enough to satisfy the fun per dollar factor. there is one of those sitting at the local Yamaha dealership for sale, haven't even asked to take it for a test ride or to sit on it or even what he wants for it. I'm sure I would wind up buying it, and right now I can't afford insurance on a superbike. They also had an early 90's Ducati SuperSport for sale that I should have jumped on for $3500. But, racing and rent this winter is going to wipe out all of my income every single month without anything left over for more toys :( 2ndGen.Rocket 09-09-2005, 02:42 PM You want cheap insurance then let me know. I don't know if GMAC covers where you are, but I have a good friend that works in their operations department. I currently pay $400 a year for balls out full coverage on my bike. Compared to well over $1k for every other company, that's unheard of. rx-7_Z06 09-09-2005, 06:45 PM oh damn! 2ndGen.Rocket I will be in touch! 2ndGen.Rocket 09-09-2005, 08:30 PM Where do you live? I don't know GMAC's exact coverage, all I know is that they don't touch NY. But right now I am paying $1000 a year for a new crotch rocket and a new truck, total full coverage. I have 1 ticket for doing 10 over, other than that my record is clean. If you want to know more PM me some details as to where you live, driving history, and what you want insured. I will talk to my buddy and see what he can work. Supper 09-09-2005, 08:52 PM I'm pretty damn sure GMAC covers out here (wyoming) but I could be mistaken. I went and looked at that ZX6R. its an 04, never been laid down. But I still couldn't bring myself to ask what they want for it. Yeah, I want one, but I can only ride for about 6months out of the year here, and thats stretching it pretty thin. |
