2ndGen.Rocket 05-29-2007, 09:21 PM Since I change my mind constantly, I'm thinking I want a fast daily driver. I love the Range, and am still not sold on parting with it. However, I have a couple options out there right now, one of which is an '02 Mustang GT, the other is a low mileage 2001 Audi S4. Anyone have experience with these? I don't know a whole lot about Audi's, or the Biturbo V6. $100T2 05-29-2007, 09:25 PM Audi S4s can be made to be very, very fast. The only real issue is, a lot of owners trade them in/sell them right around timing belt change time, because they don't want to shell out the $2500+ to do it. The timing belt needs to be done at the 75,000 mile mark. If the mileage on the car is anywhere near that, I'd assume that's the reason why the car is available. Other than that, they are pretty awesome cars. You can check out www.audiworld.com for more info, but just a warning: The forum format there sucks fucking cock. AmishBoy 05-29-2007, 09:27 PM $2500 dollars for a timing belt? What the hell is that about? 2ndGen.Rocket 05-29-2007, 09:27 PM Jesus! 2ndGen.Rocket 05-29-2007, 09:29 PM Wow the format on that forum does suck balls Zero 05-29-2007, 09:33 PM audi > mustang 2ndGen.Rocket 05-29-2007, 09:38 PM Yeah I know. The Mustang can be cheap fast though. The Audi will likely be fussy, high maintenance fast. TVS50LX 05-29-2007, 09:40 PM you have to remove the front bumper and half of the front clip to do it. aznpoopy 05-30-2007, 08:31 AM did anyone else assume FC when they read 's4?' DarkAngelKamui 05-30-2007, 01:59 PM did anyone else assume FC when they read 's4?' *raises hand* wotnartd 05-30-2007, 02:03 PM did anyone else assume FC when they read 's4?' *clears throat, scratches neck, looks away longingly* $100T2 05-30-2007, 08:53 PM you have to remove the front bumper and half of the front clip to do it. Ding ding ding ding! We have TeH WinnAr! Radiator, water pump, all sorts of shit have to come off. It's a $$$$$$$ repair at the dealer... My mechanic did it for me for $900. Alex-7 05-31-2007, 02:24 AM S8! (2002-3ish) You're only spoolin up trouble with turbo's. Sounds like you'd only like to spend mid teens though, so an S8 might not be for you. But man, they are stellar in every aspect when it comes to my ideas of the perfect daily. I've never had the hots for a B5 S4 for some reason. meddle 06-03-2007, 01:54 PM Buy a 2000-2001 a6 4.2. Waaaaaay better than an old s4 2ndGen.Rocket 06-03-2007, 03:21 PM I never liked the rear of the A6, I thought it looked too sedan-ish R281 06-03-2007, 03:33 PM 01 S4 > 02 Auto GT I own a Mustang, but I have to be realistic. 2ndGen.Rocket 06-03-2007, 08:02 PM Yeah, I told that guy to forget it on the Stang. Still looking at a silver one though, with a Bassani exhaust and a few other mods |
