i'm looking for some good mid range speakers to go in my front two doors. I already have 2 kenwood 12's powered by a kenwood 1000 watt amp. When i put the mid range speakers should i get an amplifier to power them? Any suggestions on good midranges would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on how much u want to spend. U don't have to buy an amp for the componenet speakers, but it does help a great deal.

First, how much money do you want to spend, then we can go from there.

Personally, I'd recommend buying Kenwood Excelon Components. Having a full matching audio setup is what I prefer, as do some other audio enthusiats.

I'm not too familiar with Kenwood components, but I did get a set for a guy here on the forums, preludedude aka Mark. For a more personal opinion, hit him up.

In audio, you get what you pay for, in most cases. I say in most cases because some people get awesome deals through connections and such. But if you spend a pretty penny, up to 250 as u stated in your budget for component speakers, you'll be happy.

As for an amp, I'd go with a small Kenwood amp also. I'll post some on here later today, but now I gotta do some work.

If you have any more questions, just post and i'll be sure to help out anyway I can.

What kind of car do you have and what size speakers do you need? There's an example of what may be good for you, as far as speakers are concerned.

Kenwood KAC-7201 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39734&item=5743697482&rd=1)

This is a very good amp for your component speakers. Now I am speaking from personal experience. I've owned this amp solely for the use on my component speakers and I was very pleased with the SQ and the output. You could buy that amp, and maybe 2 sets of speakers and be right at your budget of 250, or maybe a lil more.

Again, if you need anything else just ask. And if you have friends with questions, send them to illstreet.com :)

Try to get your hands on something like that. You won't be disappointed.
