Ben Howard 03-24-2002, 12:43 PM There was a bad ass little Turbo Sentra at the street races in Charlotte. Well after my race with a prelude swapped hatch from Rush i went back up and its like you go up and someone comes out and lines up with you. Well it ends up i hear a loud ass woooosh. Im like o s### heres my ass! So we back it up to where it it about 1/4 mile. We take off and i pull him instantly. I hear wheelspin but this is street racing. All the way to the top of 2nd i have him by a car. 3rd gear came and it was like he had the biggest surge of power. He pulled up to where my front bumper was at the back of his passenger door. Then we hit the point where we had to slow down. Got that car was sooo bad ass though. Sounded like a Mac truck. He goes out the Shadyside. I believe with better tunning it will be a mid 8sec car easy and a 12 sec 1/4 car.:D

Ben Howard 03-24-2002, 04:04 PM Yea i came out to Home Depot. It was the 2nd time i have came out there. It was way more packed this time. Last time was the night b4 the Import Battle at Rockingham in November. Me, Danny Tang, Will, and BoB. It was kinda small out there. Nice cars though. Nice spot too because its secluded. I saw a dude out there i knew. Cant remember his name but hes got a LS powered red 92-95 hatch with kit. Cool dude i met at Shadyside. Hope to come up again. It was crazy that for 3 hours straight we went all over Charlotte to different spots! Truely a good time and i cant wait to come back. We need to organize a daytime event for the middle of may on a Saturday and that night hit up the race scene.
! thing though...many people out didnt look like racers to me. More kits, altezza lights, hubcaps, and big tachs were out there in effect for sure!
At the end of the night after i raced the Sentra i raced a hatch with swap and mods and busted him bout 3 cars. We didnt stretch it to the 1/4 though. Only 1/8. If we were going 1/4 i prolly coulda pulled another 2 cars cause i couldve got to the top of 3rd gear and into 4th...

Just another thing about the whole "import scene" that pisses me off. Oh well, nothings perfect I suppose. Heard there were some bad ass V8s out there as well. Always good to see the good ol detroit muscle representin.
Hopefully everyone got along OK and there were no "V8s suck" or "f### rice burners" assholes out there. I hate those people.

Ben Howard 03-24-2002, 05:03 PM 00 mustang Supercharged was NASTY!! It prolly could run 7.6 on street tires. Had traction control and more. Very bad car. Rolling round with headlight out. Thats a sign of it being nasty IMO! I didnt try to jump on it! I know better! I was loving hearing the blow off valve. It was loud! He was a most def low 11sec 1/4 car!
Good thing about these cars with kits and hub was that they were running! It was a really good time!
I got called RICE! I was leaving the parkinglot the 1st time after i came in quietly and i heard someone say cya later rice! O s###...i took off across the Home Depot parking lot. Got on it hard in 1st and jumed into 2nd and just let off! Came back people wouldnt even look over our way! Thats how you do it! After that kept the low profile again...

eclipseboy97 03-24-2002, 07:41 PM yeah that supercharged stang is pretty sick. i was out at home depot from about 930 to 1015..when i went with some buds to go see blade 2. sweet movie. anyway i would have come out to the races but i had to be in at 12 that night, so i meesed out. i more than likely will be out there next weekend though. me and jon (mr2) from HTM usually go out there together. late at night there are alot of SWEET cars that come out to play in charlotte. m3's, 300z tt's, supersports, supra tt's, and of course the 2002 911 turbo gemballa tuned that occasionally makes an appearance. but anyway ben, let me know next time youre comin up and we can meet somewhere. lata
oh yeah there usually is alot of rice up there. a couple pretty cool guys though. im really bad with names but i met some people from shadows ( guy with a wrx ), and he said they go almost every sat and to come out whenever.

I believe that im gonna try to make the trip up at least once a month. Hopefully soon. Dude had a white WRX right? Bad ass car. Hoping to see him let loose at the races. But never got the chance.
StockForNow 03-25-2002, 02:41 PM If that is the white wrx with the graphics that thing is gone. He wrecked it. Its totaled. But in its prime it had a boost controller @ 18psi ( too high and inefficient for the small turbo ). He was also spraying 75 shot of naws.
the 75 shot probably cooled the intake temperature enough to make it efficient

hey stegall, just let me know when you plan on comin up. we can arrange a High Tach/Axis/Lunspeed gathering in charlotte..haha. i know ill be here this weekend, but not next. unfortunately i think most people are headin to the beach this weekend so there wont be alot goin on.
by the way im probably coming down to spartanburg sometime over the break, most likely between tursday and tuesday.
