CH2M (http://www.ch2m.com/corporate/) is looking for welders, starting wage is $20/hr IIRC. 3 weeks on 3 weeks off, 7-12's while up here.

No, the foxes aren't tame. Something like 80% of em have rabies. They all know that truck=food so they come and bug us. If we are caught "hazing" the animals its immediate termination so we have to sit in the truck until they leave. This means we sometimes spend an hour or so waiting for the fucks to leave.

union pays you $80 an hour as an journeyman welder, welding pipe. ask yzf. and with the powerhouses, like nuke plants, they simply cant afford to hire other than competent union hands and offers 7/12s, not many will be running up north for less. even I am being paid more than what you are offering. and they train my ass 6 weeks a year. fuck, I'm designing medical gas systems in hospitals that hook up your grandmas asses. get that fucking training somehow. it'll accelerate your career. find that welder and hang out with him. ask him if you can be his apprentice. yes or no, grab that ficking broom and take care of him. prove that you want it.

Call CH2M and ask them, I don't talk to the welders much. Those kinds of wages are usually reserved, in my experience, for people that supply a lot of their own shit. The first thing you have to realize when you start talking about wages up here is 1) its a completely different world up here and 2) you will only be working half the year.

Base pay for most industries up here for someone that hasn't been on the slope before are mid 20's.

after pension, health, etc etc, my gross take home would be 2300 a week. after taxes...ill probably take home 50 cent.
